measurements of tank?

found a tank on craigslist that im thinking bout getting... its 30x12x12.. isnt that a 20 gallon long? or is it a 29 gallon? just wanted to know whats the right size and name of that tank then

Being only 12" wide, that's not going to be suitable for anything more than a baby, and even a few months at that. Ideally, look for something 18-24"+ wide. Height isn't really so much of a concern, but you'll be limited with basking height and possibly lighting if it's a really short tank.
