We only got 24.9 cm this time LOL - not bad really, though the winds were near hurricane levels. Ripped apart the M on the local McDonald's sign! Mind you, we are still getting some flurries, but nothing like your folks have gotten!

That would have terrified me. I'm glad I don't have any other animals in the house. More evidence to back our recommendation of keeping animals separate even if they haven't shown aggression before.

TOTALLY agree. I didn't expect it from her. I would have expected it from the other cat, but not the fat one...As I said, lesson learned, and thankfully it was without injury. And it did scare me...

That's just enough to build up some snow "boards" for the rink =).

Absolutely! No checking though - the eldest has already had 3 concussions (thanks, hockey)...and she's a goalie

Geez that's the scary part about hockey now. I took a bunch of knocks when I played high school and juniors. That was well before there was much thought about how bad it was. I'd go to the bench and maybe sit out a shift or two then get back into the game once I stopped being dizzy. Who knows what that's going to do to my mind later in life =I At least now they realize how dangerous it can be and have some protocols in place to allow healing time.

She plays for her HS girls team...next year is her last year of HS (NOOOOOOOO) and our doctor does NOT want her to play anymore. She's devastated. She lives on the rink between hockey and ringette (goalie for both, and keeper for soccer in the summer). She's a tough kid and most people mistaken her for a boy (ALL the time). She's had a broken collarbone, and now is babying her knee. As her mom, I want to bubble wrap her and stop all sports. BUT she also has mental health issues and sports keep her involved, active, and social. If it wasn't for sports I may not have my child anymore - it's a fine line between fear for her brain and fear for her mind.

Sorry, that went dark fast...

Up side - doc is totally fine with ringette (no contact) and soccer. So she has that, but hockey is her passion.
