Maple wood?

Hello, I'm about to make my 4x2x2 enclosure. I was going to use Maple wood. I know Pine and Cedar are toxic, so you have to apply a lot of sealer. Since I'm using Maple, do I still have to use a sealer? Thanks

If you paint it or cover it with a background pretty much any wood will do imo.

I really like the look of the wood, so I don't think I want to use paint. I heard that you don't have to use sealer if you use something besides pine/cedar. But I think I'll use at least one coat on it, just to be safe. I had a custom built enclosure before, made out of pine. Just wasn't quite sure about other types of wood.

Well by painting I also mean staining, so you would still have a wood finish. I made my enclosures out of pine that I stained afterwards.

Paint the inside, or use some kind of foam created background, and stain the outside. Best of both worlds
