Yay! Approval from the community I feel like I missed the really baby stage. Didnt realize they were quite that delicate though so going to make sure I have a lot of free time.

Yes that is baby scorch last December, we got her the middle of November and she was barely 6". Seemed so tiny to me, but I have seen some in the store that look no bigger than 3" and I wonder how the breeders do it. So cute but so tiny and fragile. I will not be looking for anything other than a long distance boyfriend for Scorch :shock: as am not interested in babysitting eggs or lil poopers as cute as they are. Next baby in our house will be a tegu ( giant scaly puppy)

the second to last pic looks male to me. and the first pics, you can see femoral pores pretty good, that is also an indicator of a male. I don't know if first pics are same as bottom pics.

Dawn - Yes they are the same, those were just taken in march where as the bottom picture was taken yesterday. I guess my little girl became a boy in that time. Thats just fine with me though

Vegaslizard - No babies for me either, I just wanted one of each. I cant afford to feed them for sure! You are getting a tegu?! Or eventually getting one? Wow Im jealous, I would looove a tegu! If I had enough space, that is what I would get too! Black or Red?

My herp freak son is turning 16 and is getting it for his birthday present. First he thought he wanted red but after months of waiting he has switched to black and white. He would have liked to have a "davethedragon" blue, but his have not laid eggs this year so far. He is home schooled so has more than enough time to spend with a baby to get it puppy tame. Of course mom is willing to help out a little too

I like the black ones a lot better. I have a friend with a tegu and he is free roaming, but unfortunately he cant train it to do it's business in one spot. Im not sure if you can.

I am looking to get one from http://www.capitaldragons.com/, they have beeeautiful colours I want a red beardie, my sebastian is very yellow. When he's happy.

Awhile back i wanted to get a beardie from capital dragons, they've got awesomw ones, but when i was in touch with them about the purchase of a dragon (about 4 or 5 months ago) they told me they didn't ship to the united states ? if you find out different , will you let me know , thanks.

Well I live in Canada so that's why I've chosen them. But the shipping is really expensive so Im not thrilled. like $100. on top of a $150 dragon. Where do you live in the States? You could always ship by air and then transport over the border. But poor little baby...

I have another question. I live 4 hours from my parents and go see them monthly for a weekend. I currently take my adult beardie with me, he doesnt mind at all. But how old would a baby need to be to make this trip without serious stress implications?

I live in south florida, but when i spoke to them, they just don't ship to the states, they use to but it was too much trouble for them. paperwork , permits and i believe they even said something about driving several hours to an airport. it was just a whole mess of things. if you purchase from them . i think you'll be pleased they look like they have some nice stock.

Babies just can't handle as much change as adults can. So you'll just need to make sure that she is still being fed on hes regular schedule and they she's being kept warm. Warm is the most important part. When you visit them do you have a set up there for your adult? If so you'll need to get another one for your baby.

I bring one with me, Im already looking for a second one. I just use those mesh tanks that can fold down, they'll live for 2 nights. I dont think I started bringing sebastian until he was 7 months old. So really not sure about a baby. I dont like the thought behind it. Sebastian Didn't like it at first and wouldnt stay in the box with the heat. Now he doesnt care and sleeps the whole way but sebastian is a tank and a baby is so much more delicate.


And that's probably the same reason why I can't get breeders in the states to shop to me. We have a breeder where I live that I think I'll probably get one from instead. With capitol dragons I'll have a baby but it'll cost me $300, Im a student I just cant afford that..
