Making bearded dragon more comfortable in splint

My bearded dragon's leg was recently put in a splint due to him dislocating it. Of course, he is no where near being comfortable and keeps freaking out and moving wildly. Has anyone had their bearded dragon in a splint? And if so, do you have any advice on how to make life more comfortable for him while he is in the healing process?

I'm sure it feels very unnatural for him and he doesn't understand it. Poor guy. Try to make everything as accessible as possible. Remove climbs temporarily and make the basking spot flat and easily accessible as well as an easily accessible shade area. It may help to put something soft down as substrate. Perhaps a sheet of fleece that is easy to clean/replace if needed but doesn't have loops that could get caught up on his nails.

Yeah he's pretty aggravated. I pretty much took all of his climbing logs out since they were pretty tall, and all he has now is a short log that sits about 4 inches off of his substrate. Since he wouldn't be getting as close to the basking bulb as he's used to, I increased to a 150w so it gets warmer towards the lower part of the tank. It just sucks seeing him do his "death roll" because he's freaking out over his leg that he can't use. :/

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
