So sorry you had to go through that. I had a bad experience with Fed Ex too unfortunately. I shipped my beardie home for the Winter break (I attend school in Cali but go home to Texas over the breaks) last year and was treated terribly by Fed Ex. They were rough with the box when I brought him to the post office, even though the box was covered in LIVE ANIMAL, FRAGILE. Yet they just threw him onto the moving belt and said "oh it's fine". No, throwing my animal is NOT fine. So that was strike one.
Then they did the worst thing you could do. It was winter time in Texas so it was about 30-40F. The ***** delivering him left him outside our door without knocking, ringing the door bell, ANYTHING, in the cold weather. My mom, who was home waiting for him to arrive, had no idea he was out there since the ***** just left him there. I was thankfully near my phone when I got the notification it had been delivered, but he had been out there in the cold for maybe 15 minutes before we knew. I'm just thankful it wasn't longer than that, because I fear what may have happened...
Of course, I called Fed Ex and they refused to do anything other than notify the driver and apologize to me. No reimbursement, no credit, nothing. I will never ship him again using their service because of he inconsiderate they seem to be with live animals. Maybe we both just got unlucky, but the second anyone puts my animals in danger, I'm done with them for good. So glad your beardie made it through safely though and I hope you never encounter another problem like this again.
