Im buying my beardie a 40 gallon tank soon and i was wondering how much watts the daytime, nightime and basking spot lights should be also. How far should my beardies basking spot rock should be from the light

Unless it gets cold (Below 65 or so) at night you don't need to use a night heat source (ceramic heat emitter, no visible light given off). The wattage will really depend on the temperature readings you get. You may need to test a few. Try a 75w halogen flood light first. You can put those on lamp dimmers to cut a little power if needed. You can also raise them up on an adjustable lamp stand to change the temperatures.

You'll also need a good UVB light. I suggest using a T5 tube like this http://www.lightyourreptiles.com/22-t-5-ho-fixture-high-output-with-arcadia-d3-12-ho-bulb/ It should sit about 12'' above the basking spot (or about 10'' if it's on top of mesh which intercepts some of the UVB).

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
