My father passed away yesterday morning.

There will not be a service(that's what they're telling me) and he is being cremated... If my step mother keeps acting the way she has been, I will not be allowed to have any of my fathers ashes or even be a part of the ceremony they no doubt have planned in Zion Ut.

I am so sorry to hear about your father. My dad has been gone since 1996, and my mom since 2003, but I still miss them. There are conversations you will always wish you could have, always information missing that I can never know, and I did have the time to talk with both my parents, no evil step-mom to contend with. Is there any way you can get to Zion, to find the truth about a service? Do you have uncles, aunts, cousins or grandparents who will be straight with you about what is happening? You may be able to Google his name and find an obituary. i wish there was some way to get you there. If I lived closer, and had the money for the gas, I'd take you, myself! I'm sorry to hear about your father, Jason. It's doubly hard for you than it was for me when my dad died, 5+ years ago, as my parents were married for 52 years. It's harder in your situation. If there is anything I can do for you, let me know. As the above poster said, I wish I could take you there, but that's out of the question with our budget, we can't even take a vacation to Flagstaff, AZ. You do have my prayers.

Jason, I am so sorry. I sort of had hoped that your absence was merely you needing to spend some more time with your father and possibly developing a civil relationship with your step-mom.
