Oh my gosh LG is a girl! That poor thing no wonder she was so sick. She was probably a little bound up and just the hormones alone that come with it would have her going nutty!

Hi Jason,

I'm still catching up on various threads after being gone too long, and I am glad LG's problems seem to have a good explanation now. i just got through posting to someone else with the same surprise, viewtopic.php?f=1&t=130399 Their Rodney is really Rhoda, and i went through this with my 7 1/2 year old Thorn last year, as well. At least one other dragon I had seemed to be the opposite sex of what I was told, but that was never confirmed, and he/she disappeared last year with one of the families fostering my dragons. I hope LG recovers quickly from this little episode. I have missed seeing your wonderful pictures of smiling LG in my absence. i will send :love5: :love5: :love5: :love5: and healing thoughts to you both.

Wow! :D What a plesant surprise for a change! Glad it was only mistaken gender idenity. Now you can work on fattening her up and boosting her calcium. PWs are great for that.
Relax Jason, being female is not fatal.

I woulda never guessed! LG still fits, because Little Guy and Little Gal/Girl have the same initials. Agreed, being female isn't fatal (and I should know!) Best wishes

Oh my Jason! What a surprise! And finally an explanation! I guess it just never occured to us that lg could be having such issues since we all thought she was a he and, since she wouldn't do the same stereotypical digging! Recovery from egg laying takes time! She will be completely tired out for a few days! And prepare yourself, another clutch could appear in a few weeks! Well done to our precious lg for doing such a good job of laying on her eggs!

I probably won't be updating as often in the near future. LG is fine, but my father fell from a ladder and is now in a coma. He was first rushed to a local hospital where they could do nothing so the took him by helicopter to Salt Lake at the complete other end of the state... He fractured his skull in two places and broke his sternum. He has a serious blood clot in his brain and they think he has sustained serious head trauma... Since I live in Ca And he lives in Ut, and I haven't seen him in 7 years or talked to him in months, it makes it that much more frustrating and painful.

Things seriously don't look good. I have not given up hope, but things are very dark right now. I am working on plans to go and see him, even though he his unresponsive.

LG seems to be doing OK... Shes been thirsty, I start giving her water and she assumes this posture to gather the drops better... Fed her green bean baby food for the protein and crickets with calcium for the fat... Looking for butterworms or another fatty insect to substitute for crickets... If anyone has any suggestions of an online ordering site that might be helpful...

I need to go lay down now. Your thoughts and prayers are appreciated; Just know that I might not see the messages left for for a few days. I am calling the hospital every 12 hours for updates, so far it looks like he is slowly going down hill... My (wicked)step mother has power of attorney, and I had to fight with a nurse over the phone to get her to talk my step mom into giving me the right to hear what's going on! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

I'm happy that LG is doing well, have you thought about supers for her? You can give her smaller ones if they creep you out, or squish their heads like I do before you give the large ones. They are inexpensive for protein. You mentioned green beans for protein, chicken baby food would be better for the protein if your using babyfood, but of course, that's temporary..............I'm just glad she's doing so much better.

I'm so sorry Jason, to hear about your father, please know you'll be in my prayers, I hope you'll be able to see him soon. :( We are here for you if needed.

Hi Jason,

I am so sorry to hear about your dad, and the situation with the evil step-mom making things difficult for you. Prayers and good wishes are on their way! People do heal and come out of comas. I hope your dad is able to recover, although it may take time. I'll also pray that the esm decides to show some compassion and keep you informed. I don't think the hospital can deny adult children any information, and the esm should not be able to prevent you from being informed on your dad's condition. (((GREAT BIG HUG)))

I have known of two people who were not supposed to make it, with very severe head injuries, and both beat all the odds. One was a very funny fellow I met in a class, learning computers skills after he was suppose to die five years earlier. He was hit by a drunk driver, and never supposed to come out of the coma, then never walk, or talk again. Two years in a coma, he woke up and started regaining all the things they were saying he'd never do again. His recovery took a lot of time and hard work on his part, as he had severe spinal injuries as well, but he did incredibly well. He could type faster than I can, and I've never had a brain injury. He also had a very quick wit, and a wonderful sense of humor. The other is a friend of my son's, who went through the windshield of the car, a year and a half ago. She was in the coma for a few months, initially they didn't know whether she was going to make it, but she woke up and is doing very well today. I need to check with my son because they were doing some article on her in a magazine about her accident and recovery, and my son was going to paint background for a photo shoot.

Take care of yourself, you need to stay healthy with this kind of stress, and love to dear LG, and we will send good thoughts your way, :love5: :love5: :love5: :love5: :love5: :love5: :love5: :love5: :love5: :love5: :love5: :love5: :love5: :love5: from all of us,
MaryAnn

Jason, I'm very sorry about what happened to your dad, and more sorry that your stepmom is not allowing you to get updates on him.
Hope you'll be able to go to UT and see him. Even though he's in a coma, he could still hear you, maybe even feel your presence. Unless your dad had specific orders to not allow you to see him, there's nothing your stepmom could do/say to keep you away.

My thoughts and prayers to you and your family.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
