Oh geez what a bad run of luck you have had this week! I am sorry to hear you "cut" your hand but am glad it wasn't serious. It sounds as if LG is hanging in there. The position he is in is perfect for draining fluids so if he seems comfy I would let him be.Thanks for the update I think we were all getting a bit anxious over here.

My oh my! Jason, you sure had a rough week. So sorry about the big-waste-of-time-big-waste-of-money hospital run -- but it's always better to be safe than sorry later.

LG still isn't feeling better? Poor guy :(
I hope the vet will be able to find out what had been going on, without adding on more stress, and be able to treat him rather quickly.

{{{hugs}}}

So sorry to hear about your hand Jason, boy that must have hurt. It was a good idea getting it checked out though.

Thanks for the update on LG. That's good that you're keeping his tank warmer even at night. He sounds comfortable laying like that so best to just leave him be. Hopefully the vet can do some minimal tests to help him to feel 100% very soon. We're thinking about both of you.

I can't find that colloidal silver anywhere! :banghead:

He seems uncomfortable, he is dragging himself around instead of walking normally. It's like all of his strength is gone...

I have the 2 medications from last years vet visit:

Metronidazole Benzoate and Ponzuril.

I also have Acidophiliz and "Beautiful Dragon's Multi Vitamin w/ probiotics"

What can I do for him with what I have at the moment? I will buy whatever he needs oncew I go to the vet, but I want to help him now. I really wish my doghad torn my shirt or my pants instead; That would have saved some money and time to look for the right meds...

Jason, if he hasn't been eating, it would be a good idea to start feeding him some chicken and squash baby food. Perhaps the lack of eating is causing his weakness. How is his coloring, is his beard and/or tail darker?

Have you tried The Vitamin Shoppe? They are a tad high on prices, but they do have a 2 fl oz bottle for $16.95.

LG has a vet visit scheduled for Sat. My mom said tomorrows paycheck(my paycheck) isn't gong to cover it, but she'll take it and I can pay her back.

Today, I gave LG some Vitamin B complex mixed into a weak solution. He seemed to like it, perhaps he knew he was gaining some needed vitamins.

With tomorrow's pay check, we will be able to go to the store and buy some baby food. Which flavor is best and which brand?

We will also get some colloidal silver if we can make it over to the place in San Dimas before closing time.

I tried feeding him some carrot today(the only beardie friendly food in the house), but he didn't eat it.

I have come under the suspicion that his canned crickets gave him an infection of some sort.

I am now looking for an alternative food source that is affordable...

I will keep everyone updated, if someone could get back to me on the brand of babyfood, I would appreciate it.

Jason, not sure what brand, I usually get Gerber, but most seem to like the butternut squash and I think you can give them some meat flavor like the chicken and chicken broth. (I have given it to my guys with no problems)
Good luck and please keep us updated on how LG is.

Just seen this Jason, I am not home and can't remember the brand, but I fed Digger yesterday some Turkey & Broth baby food, it was phase 2 I believe, I have Turkey & Brioh, Squash, Peas and Green beans, I think it's gerber, but I really don't do brand names that much...with Digger he won't eat it diluted, he likes to chomp down on the turkey & broth one, if I dilute it he'll just ignore it. The peas and squach and green beans are not that thick. He will also get the Chicken & Broth one but for some reason that's a hard one to find here, so I use the turkey one.

I don't know what else to tell you, Digger is unique with his probems, but I saw the baby food part and figured I would tell you what I feed him..he's 7 and 1/2 years old now so I think I am doing something right.

Good luck and I hope LG gets better!

Personally, I'd never been a fan of the canned feeders. You just don't know what they put into them as preservatives. They'd always smelled funny too.
If you can't afford the live feeders, Jason, try freeze dried ones.

As for what brand of babyfood to feed LG, I don't think it'd matter, just be sure to read the ingredients -- the more pure the better (less preservatives). Also, be sure that the sodium/sugar contents are low.
I'd tried chicken flavor on Pookie, but he didn't like it. He preferred turkey with gravy and beef (which I dilute due to the higher sodium content).

Ny mom just got off work; She stpped by the bank, then to the store for some groceries and baby food for LG.

She brought hom gerbers chicken and gravy, squash and a carrot one too.

I immediately gave him some of the squash one to get something on his nearly empty stomach.

He seemed to gobble it up, maybe even enjoying the flavor.

Then a tried the chicken one; He hated it, flicking his head to fling the stuff away. I gave him a drink of water with a litle Vit B complex mixed in.

I called the vets office to see if I can get him in today, but they said that isn't the issue. The doctor who knows reptiles is out until tomorrow afternoon, so I'll have to wait. I just got my paycheck, with was 73 dollars. Normally that would go to my mom for cost of living, but shes letting this one go to LGs visit. She said I don't have to worry about paying her back, thats not important right now.

So, hopefully he'll poop before the visit so I have a specimen to bring in. Do you think they'll do a blood workup? How much does something like that cost, and how long for the results? Something tells me if LG doesn't get the help he needs tomorrow he might now make it.

I have some pictures I just took; I am going to go upload them now on the other computer.

Updates as they come... :|

The blood work cost depends on how expensive your vet is to begin with, and what they'll test for. If you're asking for a full baseline, that could get quite expensive. I can't remember the exact amount from Pookie's, but it was close to $100. I got the results within two days.

That's funny that LG shook his head and flung the chicken babyfood from his mouth. That was the same reaction I got from Pookie.
If he's willing to eat the squash, give it to him as much as he'll eat. It's a start.

Please don't say that :( I'm continuing to pray for him and hope that he'll surprise us all soon.

I need to go up to my grandparents right now, something is up.

I got the colloidal silver, 30pp. Mixed it 50/50 with water and he drank a few mL.

I will be back in about an hour, I will make another update when I get home with the greens/squash to make a slurry.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
