lettuce

Hey peeps. Looking for some advice, Lionel love to eat little gem lettuce but I read somewhere today that I shouldn't give him lettuce as its mostly water and not very nutritious.

What do we think peeps?

Lettuce in general isn't too great. Try mustard greens, dandelion greens, collard greens, endive, turnip greens, and squash.

lettuce is mostly water, however it does also have vitamins and minerals, however just not as much as other green leafy stuffs. you should definitely use other greens however its' not bad to let em eat some. you can always mix it into his salads or with new greens so he can transition.

Thank you. Its aboutnthe only greens I can get him to even look at at the moment so will try mixing itnin with other stuffs

Fred will usually only eat dandelion greens, luckily my local stater bros sells a bunch for about 2 bucks. I suppliment that with greens i collect from meals or from outside, especially dandelion flowers. all other greens ive tried he just ignores so i dump them in the roach bin. make sure you cut the pieces up small so hes less likely to pick and choose what he wants (they are smart little brats sometimes )

nawww. yes he is a smart cookie. I tried some banana with him yesterday and he looked at me as if to way WTF mommy?

Bought him some spring greens cabbage today, see how he gets on with that, have torn it up nice and small for him
