I've seen several posts with this title, but I'm really concerned for Dalia.

She hasn't eaten all that much since we got home from up north. She has also been spending the entire day in her cave. When I get home and take her out she's cold since she's not basking like she should. The other day I gave her a soak and had her sit on my chest for a little bit. She ended up falling asleep on my chest and didn't want me to stop rubbing her back through the towel, (I was only using my index finger and was being very gentle.) Anyways she ended up sleeping in the towel overnight in her tank and the next day she spent the whole day on her log that is close to the UVB light. After I took out the towel though, which revealed the cave opening, she went back into the cave and didn't come out until I took her out again. Her eyes are only half open during the day when she's in the cave. She's been fine up until this point and I'm really concerned. She hasn't pooped since 7/26/2015 and it was a little runny, and that was up north. She seems fine when I take her out of the tank, but will usually find a corner somewhere in the room and just hunker down and try to sleep.

Isn't it a little early for Brumation? This will be my first fall/winter with a dragon and I'm not sure what the signs of Brumating are. I don't want to take her into the vet if I don't absolutely need to since it's $$$$$$$$$$$ just to see a vet by me. I've been soaking her everyday and she's been falling asleep in the bath.

Here's a photo of the setup when it was in my room upstairs.
(I also don't have the background in there anymore and there's more tile)
Since then I have moved downstairs since my room was getting small for the large number of animals and people living there. I was also wondering if this could have an impact as to why Dalia is being so punky, since my room upstairs got a lot of natural sunlight and the room we're in now doesn't. She still has all of her lamps, the UVB, basking and even a ceramic heat emitter just in case it gets too cold.

If anyone could provide some feedback as to whether or not I should go to the vet I would appreciate it. Later I'm going to try some baby food and see if she eats that.

Hi there....can you post a pic of Dalia ? Always do so when inquiring about your beardie. :) Is she a baby, sub adult or adult ? It is very possible that she's in an early brumation.....sometimes a move like that triggers the desire to hide/sleep. I doubt she's ill but that this is just related to the move, but it would be helpful to post a pic of your girl to show her size/condition. She will be fine with a weekly soak, daily soaks will stress her right now + won't do anything for her.

Here are a couple pics from our trip up north, and before she started acting like this.

One to get her size:

This one was a few days after we got home and she spent the entire day in her cave. We pulled the cave off to see if she wanted to come out.

This morning when I got up she was behind the cave with her eyes half open.

If this is an early brumation what should I do?

O.K, she's visually in great shape. If you can rule out anything that could happen to her [ a fall, overheating on the drive, something falling on her ] then she is just probably just stressed out from the move. That can put them in a sort of brumation state, and there's nothing wrong with that. Just let her be and offer water once a week. You can try dribbling it on her nose [ but mop up any excess ] to give her a drink. In this condition it's normal for them not to eat, so don't worry about that. She has plenty of meat on her and will not lose much weight at all.

Thanks AHBD for your response. I apologize for my erratic post, I am just super worried about my pretty girl. I am a very anxious person and always want to make sure all of my babies are ok. Also the not knowing whats wrong is the worst feeling.

Dalia did have a slight fall the other day. But it was only a small tumble and she was completely fine afterwards. I checked her over and made sure nothing was broken, she only fell 12 inches from her perch onto the floor, but I'm a worried momma so I had to check her over. After she gave me a look for touching her all over she walked away and started investigating the room.

Here's a current photo from Today. Boyfriend got home and took the cave off her to check on her.

He says that she's warm so she hasn't been in the cave all day like before. And from what I can tell from the photo she may have just been in the cave because she wasn't being stimulated. Bf said he would keep a close eye on her until I get home later. I'll try giving her some food later too.

Thanks again AHBD :] You've helped me calm down a bit since I thought that she might have a parasite or something.

So yesterday I saw an amazing change in Dalia. She was moving around and was very alert. She even ate some food :]

This morning she was even better, she chased after some crickets in her tank and I decided to take her out and let her roam around while I did some chores.

She finally pooped but it looked like this, should I be concerned?

She seems to have snapped out of her funk very quickly, glad to hear it. :) Sometimes it can take much longer. Her poo is O.K, they don't always look text book. I'm sure she's going to be fine and return to the natural cricket hunter that she is. :)

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
