It's probably the harness she's objecting to.... give her a little bit of time waring the harness (no leash) inside while she's having inhouse free range time, she might get used to waring it after a few weeks of this everyday.

Which type of harness is it? I've had trouble getting them to cooperate with the chest harnesses and have had better luck with the waist loop style harnesses. Those are a bit easier for them to wiggle out of though.

I haven't used a chest harness but have good success with a hip harness/leash. He doesn't seem to notice it too much and it's not as big/cumbersome as a little best would be.

will it hurt her? it seems kind of tight and could hurt her back legs. the only other time i have put her on a leash she tried as hard as she could to escape. i am just concerned for her safety.

They don't appear to really notice it much. You don't need to make it super tight, just enough so it doesn't easily slip off over the legs if she straightens them out.

The band will sit against the "waist" and is only snug enough that it won't slip off (I can fit a finger under Peppers). He doesn't seem to notice it or at least he does fuss; he doesn't wiggle around or scratch at it. I lift up his back end and just slide the band under his belly, set him down and close it up. Even with the draw string type just make a big loop and snug it while they are sitting on the ground. Not much wrestling like I imagine a chest harness would have.

I made Peppers with suede and elastic so if he takes off it won't be as sudden a jolt if he gets to the end of his leash.

I have a parachute cord harness for my dragons that does go around the chest.
Haven't tried it on my male yet, but Simon, my girl here, doesn't mind it at all.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
