Jiffy's beardies, Someone New!** pg 42

I do not have a thread for all of my boys day to day adventures.
I will start one here. I have bunches of pictures and cuteness, but dont want to overload anyone, so I will add stuff along.

Waffle just turned 4 on April 2nd. I have had him since he was about 6 weeks old.
Sweet boy, laid back, doesnt like to eat half the time. And he hates my boyfriend Butch! :lol:

Foster is my Craigslist beardie. I had not been looking for another beardie, but saw an add on Craigslist that said looking for a home for 3 legged baby bearded dragon. Well, that was all it took.
He will be 3 on June 16th. I have had him since he was almost 6 weeks old. He likes to eat, and head bob and black beard, and just lay around being bright orange!

Brady is my newest baby, and was my 2009 Valentines Day Present. He was in a local petstore, he was missing an arm, had no uv light, barely being fed, very tiny, in nasty conditions. I tried for 2 months to get the store to give him to me, or sell him to me. They said they were keeping him as a pet. Finally my boyfriend got him for me for Valentines Day. I think he is a bit more persuasive than I am! :wink:
He turned 1 on August 1st.

I wish my guy would go its almost been a week he has had 3 baths so far this week again but also going through a full body shed so he is so pissed off right now with that .
Another soak tomorrow and a light scrub with a soft tooth brush.

Full body sheds tend to make them grumpy and affects their appetites, so wouldn't worry too much, just continue with baths. If you think it's taking too long, try sugar-free applesauce, it's supposed to help with digestion.

Hi Jen, how's everyone? We're have a bad weather spot, rain for the next 4-5 days, which means overcraft. So everyone's up but not to quick about moving around, not even Leo!

Thanks Sweetpie He did go today and I mean huge!!! and of course right in the corner of the viv thank goodness for tile some disinfecting wipes and it was all clean.
He kept on giving me the stink eye cause I couldnt see it he did the biz in back of his tiki hut to hide it from mom.

Oh and he finished shedding yay ... I also found out that he is a German Giant I took him to see one of my reptile friends who breeds he has the german in him and he now measures 21 inches long he is just over 1 year old.

I had to share that with you all lol... Proud reptile mommy here lol

Nothing new to report on my boys, they are all wide open, and obnoxious. They will only eat white dubia, so I am stuck digging thru tons of dubia looking for the white ones so that they will eat. They act like they are starving and that I am starving them. NOOOOO, I try to give them all the dubia they want, but since they will only eat white ones, supplies are limited!

Would misting the dubia with water then dusting them with calcium fool them?

I have tried dusting them and it didnt work. I havent tried it with misting the roaches though, that may help trick them more, since it would stay on better. Good idea, will have to try it here in just a few minutes.

Our gang always tries to hold out for white worms, but there are so few in the batches that I buy that they've had to make do with regular supers. Would your boys take regular dubias if they were starved a day or two? Rubio wasn't eating anything hardly after brumation, now I can't seem to offer him enough! I think he's over 800g now, I'll have to weigh everyone over the weekend.

I'm back to work part-time on Monday, so am getting my crew used to a new feeding schedule. I don't have to leave until 2:20p but still, when I'm working f/t, I'll be leaving at 10:20a. I'm going to ask a friend to come in at 6p & shut off their lights, I'll tuck them in when I get home. Boy I sure didn't realize how much Roger did with them until he got sick. I'm sure hoping he'll get well soon so he can take care of our babies like he used to. He sure misses that right now.

I cant out starve the boys, they will wait and wait for white dubia. Brady will eat regular ones sometimes, but not anyone else.

I hope that your starting back into work goes well. I am sure your babies will adjust ok. Hope you get Roger all well really soon, so he can get back to his beardie spoiling duties! :mrgreen:

I said mist? Wow I must have been tired...I need to learn to proof-read. Anyway new pictures are always exciting! OH and stories! I love reading Goonie's thread because she always has these awesome stories! I have had some new and exciting things happening, my sisters bearded dragon laid eggs this morning between 4 am and she laid #30 at 7:30 and was done. Zippy was with her and he must not be gay after all....we thought for sure he didn't get her....the eggs are big and plump....a little squishy but hardened up a little after they were in the incubator. She smashed 5 with her head trying to bury them....poor things. BUT its so exciting!
