Jango (pic heavy)

Hey all.. not sure who all read my introduction link so I guess i'll start by saying hi, my name is Tammy.. I'm a 38 year old, stay at home mommy of one human, my son Nathan (7yrs) and to Jango. My hubby bought Jango for me on Feb. 29, 2012 at a well known pet store near us.."Gittlers". The lady who took care of us there told us that Jango was only a few weeks old when we got him..so if that's correct he should be about 4 months old.. or somewhere around that i'm guessing. Not sure what kind of beardie he is though. He's currently in a 20 gallon reptile tank with reptile carpet and the lights that came with the tank.. I know I need to get new lights for him asap..just need the $$. He loves his crickets (dusted w/calcium 1x day) and he gets kale and turnip greens with some carrots and cucumber.. once in awhile I give him some apple, wich he loves. his basking side stays between 99 and 105 and his shady side stays about 75.

Jango loves being out of his terrarium and looking out the window, 'specially when the sun is shining and I can have it open.. I always supervise him. I don't trust him enough yet to let him have run of the house but I do let him run around on the couch and once in awhile in my son's bedroom, we block all the holes up and keep a close eye on him, a few times he'd snuggle with my son's stuffed animals and go to sleep, he even fell asleep once on the dresser behind the CD player. I can walk around the house with him hanging onto my shirt or sitting on my shoulder, wichever he feels like doing. Once in awhile I will take him into the bedroom with all the fish... yeah.. we have lots of fish.. mostly Chiclids.. 75 gallon, 55 gallon, a few 20 gallons, 10 gallons and a 5 gallon..oh also got a 29 gallon with gold fish in it.. hubby wants to get another 55 gallon and also wants to get Jango a 40 gallon breeder tank.

Hey all.. nothing really new to talk about.. except i'm getting worried (like always) with Jango not pooping again. He hasn't poo'd in about 6 days now.. but he's only been eating about two bites of his salad a day if that. He's still awake and alittle active. I've been giving him a bath everyday as well. Think I should try pumpkin or should I wait since that's all he's been eating? I'm gonna go and get him a few crickets in a day or two to see if he'll eat them. He hasn't had any calcium or vitamins for over a week since he hasn't been eating any crickets or worms because he won't eat his salad with it on it.

Try the pumpkin, it usually works in a few days, even though he's eating just a bit, he should still having something to poop. The pumpkin, along with baths & massaging his tummy from his chest to his vent, should help.

Thanks Deb.. that's what I told Mike.. about how he should poo some even if just alittle because he's been eating salad.. like I said I have been giving him baths every day and I do massage his tummy all over even down by his vent.. not sure if he's just being lazy and just wants to lay around or what.. that's all he does when in the bath is lay there.. with his head up but still laying. I hope he's not plugged up. He seems healthy.. still good looking fat pads on his head and a good fat tummy.. just not pooping. Why must he worry me like this!??

Oh just because he's a beardie going through winter slow down for the first time and he can worry you. They all worry me, too, because even though I've been through this, it's always different. He will always worry you, just like Nathan, because he's your baby, too.

Jango pooped yesterday! I didn't get a chance to get pumpkin yet so before his bath I told Jango that he needed to poo and that he was gonna have another bath and he just looked at me like saying "What you talkin' about Willis?" then Mike gave him a good talkin' too, telling him how he had to poo so I would stop worrying so much and that he wouldn't need a bath everyday if he does and it was so funny watching Jango.. he was looking at Mike and moving his head like he knew every word he was saying.. then I got him into the bath and he walked around some and then layed there for abit while I was drying my hair.. when I was done I told him he had to poo and Mike came in and said "remember what I said" and then next thing I know he poo'd! I don't think I could be so happy over poo.. but I was so relieved!

On another note.. Mike got fired from his job last friday night (Walmart).. they said he called off more days than he was allowed when he didn't.. They were just looking for an excuse because he was one of the few full time employees left and he just added me to his health insurance stuff.. they don't like full time and having to pay out all kinds of money for insurance so we think that's why they pulled that stunt.. he put in for unemployment and we applied for some help from welfare until he can get another job.. wich might not be too far away.. he put his application in at Hoss's Steakhouse and he goes for an interview for next thursday (I think that's what day he said) so keep your fingers crossed that he gets it. He will be losing hours and won't make nearly as much as he did at Walmart but atleast it will be a job.. and during the day! I hated him working during the night.

I took Nathan trick or treating here at home on the 26th.. we went out with a friend.. they got pretty much candy but not nearly as much as past years.. barely any houses had lights on. Then I took him trick or treating at his grandma's (my mom's) on the 31st.. the same .. barely any houses had lights on.. and it was raining.. not a drenching rain just drizzling.. enough to make us wet and chilly. Afterwards we went to my brother's and visited for awhile.. before coming home we had to stop at Walmart (a different one then his dad worked at) to get a few things.. we never got home until around 11pm and Nathan had school today so it was alittle hard to get him up and ready. Nathan got his report card today.. all A's! he got 103% in spelling and is on the honor roll! I'm so proud of him

Aww, so sorry to hear about Mike's job, can he complain to the labour board, as it seems unfair that he would lose a good job, on the other hand, finger's crossed that he gets the job at the steakhouse so you can have him home at night. It's just so unfair...

Wow, poopy dance, we've all been there, worrying about the not-pooping thing, but glad he listened!

And Nathan, wow, all A's, congratulations!

I was just checking the calendar & there was Jango, beautiful boy, on the cover of the same calendar that all my boys are in, too, then saw Liz's Soren got a complete page, well done!!!! I'll be getting that calendar at the end of the year, I get one for Jake every year, too, as a Xmas present.

Thought I would pop in and say hi to you. I love the closeup of Jango and of course all the pictures are really good. Love him lounging in the window..wish my window sills were big enough for mine to watch outside but they aren't. I have deep set windows but small window sills. The pictures of him in the clothes basket are priceless..love them. Hope you have a great day and sorry about Mike losing his job, am keeping my fingers crossed and praying he gets a job quickly.

Hey all. Not much to say since last time..Tomorrow I have to take my mom to get her cateracts removed.. well they are doing one eye at a time.. the right one tomorrow.. the left one on the 12th, Mike has his interview with Hoss's on Thursday. I got 40 crickets at Petco for Jango the other day and still won't eat them.. I tried to give him some yesterday and then again today.. both times he licked it and then ran in the opposite direction :roll: I did get him to eat his salad yesterday and I had put calcium on it so atleast I got some into him.. but today he didn't eat anything. He even refused the piece of banana I offered him.. and he loves banana's! I guess its part of the brumation stuff? I hope. He wants to go to sleep around 2pm. I am so happy that he made cover of one of the calanders! I had to look twice to make sure it was really him :lol: I hope i'm able to buy one when they come out. Well that's about it.. thanks for visiting

Good luck to Mike on Thursday and to your Mom tomorrow. For Jango, keep putting on his lights in the am if he's awake when you check on him, if he stays asleep, he can sleep for the day. If he doesn't eat & goes to sleep earlier every day, he's working up to brumation. Rubio is out but has to get up end week as I know he's got another poop in him, so will keep him up for a few days until he poops, then he can sleep for awhile. He's usually out for 2 months, but then he's 5 yrs old. For Jango, this is his first winter slow down, he might just do the morning shift, so to speak. Good luck, is there not a way for Mike to report Walmart as wrongful dismissal?

Well Mike goes for his job interview today.. hope it goes good and he gets the job. We still never heard anything from the unemployment office or welfare office so I don't know when or if we'll get any help.. Mike got his last paycheck but it all has to go for bills so if we don't get any help I don't know what we'll do for food.. we do have a 9 year old that needs to eat. Jango was up and running around yesterday so I offered him crickets again.. he ate 6! Today so far he was up running around black bearding and bobbing to his reflection.. I got him out to take him to the window and he grabbed onto his blankie and took it with him.. so I put his blankie infront of him at the window so he could lay on it but he didn't.. but when he jumped down, he did so in a way that his blanky fell onto his back and he took off running with it :lol: like he had it all planned out.. guess he's in a blankie mood today. My mom's surgery went well and I took her for a follow-up yesterday and the doctor said it's doing really good.. he sees an improvment in her eyesight already. Have to take her next tuesday to get her left eye done. I want to get a calendar so bad but I don't think we have the money for it now I mentioned it to Mike but he didn't say anything.

Well we've been part of welfare ever since Nathan was born.. he has medical insurance through them and they helped me with paying for daycare when he was little until he started school...back then Mike had a job at a grocery store and I had a job at a restaurant and with both our pays we still qualified since neither of us was making much.. and then when Mike asked me to quit my job to stay home with Nathan we applied for food stamps and qualified so we are part of welfare through that.. we were getting good foodstamps until Mike started making too much.. now we are just getting $34 a month from them. We can't live off of $34 a month for food.. Nathan needs to eat. We asked for cash assistance and health insurance through them just until Mike can get another job but haven't heard anything from them yet or from the unemployment office. Mike just got his last paycheck yesterday but it's nearly gone now that we payed the bills. We go to the store every day just to buy something for supper because we don't have the money to do it any other way. Once this money is gone we will have nothing until they decide to help us.. and if they don't then I guess we'll be out on the streets or something.. well I guess we can stay in our house because we own it with no mortgage.. but won't have lights, heat.. etc. I'm soon gonna go see if I can get my job back at Ryan's if something soon don't happen. Mike had his interview today but wasn't promised anything and the guy told him he wouldn't be working until mid to late December if he was hired.

I don't know.. I have to put in a new application in (they do it online now) but I use to work with the lady that's manager now and she said all i have to do is put in my application that she'd hire me back.. but she use to be a two face.. back stabber.. so who knows.
