HE MOVED!! I just went to check on him again and he was on the lower piece of driftwood. So he climbed up all by himself. I'm so relieved!!

Oooo law-law, good lookin' boy ya got there!

Let us know if that eye gets any better after he sheds. I'm not entirely sure, but I was wondering myself if you could use some sterile water, or salene eye drops to maybe flush it out?

Thanks! It is INCREDIBLY hard not to worry. I know everyone says it (even I say it), but when it's YOUR beardie in question, well forget about it. It's impossible not to worry!

I offered him crickets again tonight, but it was a no go (no surprise there). He did accept 2 more small Phoenix Worms though which is good. He's back in his cage now basking. Will give him more time before I "tuck him in". :)

Oh, and the eye. He has both eyes open now. I took a real good look at his left eye when I had him out to feed him and it does appear that he has a little bit of loose skin on his lower lid. I know I can't pull him off and I wouldn't even attempt it, but is there anything else I can do? Should I just use warm water on it when I bathe him and let nature take it's course?

Hi Mandy, CONGRATULATIONS. He's absolutely adorable! That's good that he is moving around on his own now AND has eaten some phoenix worms for you.

As far as the eye goes, you could pick up some saline solution like you would use yourself to flush something out of your eye. You don't want to get the type of saline that you would use for contact lenses though. Just put a few drops in his eye a couple of times a day and it should help wash anything out and also help loosen up any skin ready to come loose around his eye lid. Or if he will allow it, take a warm washcloth and lay if over his eye for a few minutes.

Congratulations Mandy!!!
Boy do I remember the stress you're feeling!! I too have a Bloodbank dragon and I'm proud to say my Brady is now eating but we did go down the babyfood trail. See one of my post in the feeding area I have a pic of him eating it. He's now a pretty happy camper all white belly and all. My Pheonix worms came in and he loves them when he can see them. I made the mistake and bought smalls and they are SMALL!! Anyway congrats again and enjoy the ride :blob5:

Thanks again everyone for the advice and support! I still can't believe he's finally here! Most of the night I left him in my room alone with just his lights on so he could just chill. I came downstairs about a half hour ago to shut the lights off (I wanted to leave them on a little bit later considering he was without them for most of the morning). He looked so tired when I came down so I decided to try my luck with wrapping him up in a blanket and holding him for a few. No sooner did I put the blanket over him and he closed his little eyes and drifted off. He's had a pretty rough day. Poor little guy. :( Things can only get better from here I guess!

Here he is all tucked in. I only took one photo because I didn't want to disturb him. He didn't even open his eyes!

Oh, how sweet and precious is that. :p He must be exhausted and confused about everything, you did the right thing with wrapping him up, cuddling him and putting him to bed. Tomorrow should be an easier day on both of you. :D

Well Dragon (no, that’s not what I’m naming him  ) made it through his first night at his new home. When I woke up this morning he was still in his blankie, but he was awake. I turned his lights on while I went upstairs to shower. When I came back down I fixed him a salad and put 24 Phoenix Worms in his dish. He stayed under his blankie the whole time I was getting ready for work (about a half hour). When I was finished I shut everything in “our” room off except for his lights and headed upstairs to pack my food, etc for work. I went down to peak at him one last time before heading out and I could see him from the bottom of the steps chowing down on the worms. So, now while I’m at work at least I know that he is up and moving around now and that he has something in his little belly. Will give crickets another shot for lunch when I go home, but if he rejects them I’ll put some more worms in his dish. If he keeps refusing crickets will he get TO spoiled and dependent on the worms? I don’t want to starve him, but as expensive as the worms are I really don’t want those to the staple of his diet either. It’s going to be a long day for me until I see him again, but I’m sure he’ll enjoy the quiet house so I’m taking some comfort in that. :)

Congrats Mandy on your new little one! He's is absolutely precious.
Just as everyone else has said... try not to worry too much or it will make you crazy... like the rest of us!
As for feeding the PW's and crickets.. do try to keep offering the crickets daily. The beardies do love those PW's and can become somewhat spoiled by them and refuse their crickets. Maybe try crix for two feedings and pw's for one. Yes, the pw's can become quite expensive, especially as the beardie starts to get bigger... then they want/need twice as many
Also remember, due to relocation stress... you may not see his full eating potential for a few days or so.

Enjoy your new friend! They are wonderful little creatures :D

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
