Hey, I just thought that i would give an update on my little guy, _______. Yep, he still has no name. I have had him for over a month, but if it weren't for people on this site and others, he may not still be around. I would have soaked up all the advice from  Petco  and done it all wrong. And for that, i want to say thanks. He just finished shedding his tail yesterday, now he has to finish his head, then it starts all over. Here are a bunch of pics I took of him today.

He really likes his greens, but only if I hand feed him.

My dog, Scout, get EXTREMELY jealous whenever I pay attention to the beardie or my leopard gecko. So I took some pics of her.

He ate ONE Phoenix worm. ONE!! I paid 30 bucks for them, he better eat more later or tomorrow! I'm hoping its just because he's not hungry after all the waxworms yesterday, and he's not on a waxworm-only strike.

Great that the phoenix worms arrived, I'll bet he'll eat more for you tomorrow. Sounds like he is doing very well. Can't wait to see more pictures. :p

Still no luck. He refuses to eat them. I even put him in a separate container and let them loose. He just stared at me and stared at me and glared at me. I'm going to throw in a waxworm to see if he'll eat that. His arms and legs are in shed right now, but I don't think that would deter him from eating... Maybe I should've waited and ordered the large. I'll give him a bath in a bit to see if he has to poop.

Okay so today he decided he loves phoenix worms (ate at least 30), but now he hates crickets(ate at most 3). Story time!: Since he wasn't eating the worms (bowl was empty when I got home  ) I went to get crickets. I am now disgusted with my local pet store. First off, a few weeks ago, they got a sub adult beardie, he looked fine. He's getting skinnier. Now today I go in, and they have another subadult, obvious MBD in his back, in a 20 gallon long with crickets walking all over him. And they have 3 BABIES, as in less than 6 weeks, in a little 8 by 4" cricket keeper. This is INSIDE a snake's enclosure. Not only do they not have any heat or light, but they are probably constantly in fear of the snake(not to mention this is like teasing the snake). They are on wood chips with a little water bowl. That's it. I am so disgusted. Next time I'm in there I'm going to complain and ask them to move them. I'm hoping that they are still alive by that time, but I know that at least one of their dragons will have died by the next time I'm in there. Both because of the lousy enclosures and the fact that they're barely being fed. They have the nerve to sell these sickly "colored bearded dragons" for 70$. Nobody is going to buy them and they'll die before anyone can help. I'm trying to convince my mother to let me buy more Dubia so I never have to go there again. I showed her about how horrible every little thing being done in there is, so she might let me when I have more money. Anybody know where I can get just some adult females for cheap? Maybe some small nymphs?

Wait, they're in with a SNAKE?! Sad thing is, beardies were originally brought to the states as a feeder lizard, but this is against every sane rational thought... I would say that if you have any sort of a reptile group in your area, contact them and get them to see the situation. Was it a very large snake, and do you know what type it was?

They were in the snake's enclosure, but they were inside a cricket keeper. I think they were just in there to conserve space and money for the store. Really? A feeder? Wow I never knew that. From a feeder to the most popular lizard... I didn't see the type, I think it was a boa. It wasn't huge (not a baby, but not full grown), but definitely large enough to swallow 3 little beardies.
I'm not aware of any groups in my area...

Pity. If they were going to do the critter keeper idea, most petstores know better than to stick reptiles of different species together. Putting a tarantula in a critter keeper inside another tarantula's cage works, same thing with pac-man frogs, but putting lizards and snakes together is just plain stupid, and they are going to have herp keepers hopefully all over them for this one. If you're looking for a good Dubia place to order from, I believe there was a store online called the roach guy had decent prices on setting up a breeding colony.

Sometimes they put cornsnakes in a keeper next to cornsnakes, and I don't mind(as much), but this is ridiculous. Its not just that they're in with the snake, but there are 3 beardies in one cramped little container. That should be illegal. Yeah I ordered my original roaches from him, but I want more now. Just for feeding. Do you know if he sells just nymphs? (appropriate for a baby) Never mind, he doesn't.

He ate more than 30 more phoenix worms today! He won't go to sleep! His lights have been out for more than an hour and he wouldn't sleep, now I took him out and he is just STARING at me while resting in my hand. He won't sleep!

That's great that he ate 30 phoenix worms today, bet you were surprised. :D You're not dusting those worms with calcium, right? Just thought I would mention that, they have a high calcium content so no dusting needed when feeding them.

Perhaps he's just not sleepy or wants attention. Did he have some run around time today?

No, I haven't been dusting them.

He has been really hyper today. I took him out twice and gave him a bath and he was still glass dancing all day. I took him out a little while ago and he fell asleep in my hands and on my chest, so I put him back in his tank and he's fast asleep. lol.

I think the roach guy does sell nymphs, can't remember off the top of my head. But, good thing that your dragon is chomping down on those phoenix worms, I swear that they're some magical growth potion for dragons.

I looked and he only seems to sell small and mixed. And all of them come with adult pairs. I looked on theroachranch, but they're completely out of stock... Yep, as long as he eats the worms, he'll be fine. I think I might order more when he finishes them so they can be his staple for a while.

Phoenix worms are all gone today. He finished 400 in exactly one week! I'm sure he could've done it in less time, but I moderated his intake. Now I've ordered 500 large reptiworms(much better prices), so I hope he can eat the larges. I hope they last him longer... I still have lots of pics to upload.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
