Is this normal!?

Is this a normal position for them to lay in?
If not, what might be wrong with him? Is is an emergency?

Btw, I did poke him after this ( not hard ) and he acted normal?

if he is walking just fine then yes, completely normal, the straight leg (aka sexy leg) is a normal thing they do, you'll find they love to freak you out with the way they lay down.

does he ususally hang out at that spot? is there a heat source we are not seeing?

Yeah, he has been laying there for the past week( eating of course)and I did turn off his basking light because it makes pics look weird.
And I have two basking spots for him, one is heat and one is uvb. That is right between both.

Cool, as he probably just likes that spot then, just check your temps routinely and ensure the UVB is set at an appropriate distance. as long as he is eating and is active he looks like a normal weird beardie.

Just about anything is "normal" when it comes to bearded dragon sleeping positions, even though a lot of them certainly don't look that way. :roll:

If he has been laying in that particular spot for a week rather than basking, check the temps and make sure you are using either a temperature gun or digital probe thermometer as those are the only 2 ways to get accurate readings.

Could you fill us in on the brand & type of UVB you're using? The basking bulb and UVB should be right alongside each other so he can get the benefit of both bulbs while he is basking.
