i live in co and here its super dry, so dry hat the humidity moniter, accurite from walmart) says LO like its too low, how should i keep the humidity up, and btw the humidity is only low for this part of the year
They don't need high humidity, but they do need some in order to shed correctly, and if the AccuRite is telling you it's low, it's to low. My suggestion for this instance would be to do something I never tell people to do- put a water dish in the tank. Doesn't have to be big, and you'll have to experiment to see where in the tank it evaporates at the right rate to get you the correct range (Between 30-50% is best)
It sounds like you have the same AcuRite thermometer that I use. I recently had to buy a new one because one of the little wires inside was broken. When I tried to get readings, the basking temp just kept reading HIGH and wouldn't register, if I wiggled the wire, then it would register a temp. You might want to try resetting the humidity button and wiggling the wires to see if that might be the problem.
What kind of heat and A/C do you have in your house?
Do you have a humidity setting on your furnace that you could turn up? or you can add a humidifier onto the furnace heater (or central A/C).You can also add a humidifier in the beardie's room.
I had the same problem in the winter time because everytime my heat kicked on it would dry the house out so bad and Jojo's cage humidity would only be in the 20's.
In the summer I don't have that problem and Jojo's cage is 40% which is perfect
I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
