im 47 and got my first beardie on tuesday wanted one for like a zillion years but with kids and a now ex hubby that hated reptiles or their live food i never got the chance to own one now in young free and single again me and my son have got the beautiful pumpkin ( fire and ice beardie xx

All you guys are awesome! I guess Beardies aren't just a 'childs pet' as it send on the box when mine was delivered. Made me feel like was a weirdo. LOL

I personally think beardies are recommended for children because they are generally docile and well-tempered. However, I think you get more out of it as an adult. Children are often easily bored and really hands-on. I think as an adult you can appreciate the hands-on as well as just watching them interact with their world and each other. I LOVE reptiles as pets.

I'm 22 and graduating from college with degrees in elementary education and education of children with learning and behavioral disorders on Saturday!! Lilly is my only beardie (although my boyfriend has one as well). I also have a jack russell (who is currently cleaning my hands) and a golden retriever.

I will be on my 3rd beardie in 2 weeks... but 3 is where I stop 2 boys and 1 girl. One is supposed to be my daughters, however I do all the care for it. LOL

I'm 29 and was always scared of reptiles until I met a beardie. My husband wanted one and I saw how cute the babies were so 2 beardies for us. I always tell people that think it's wierd that if they just spent some time with them they would understand. So now it's a little over a year later and I'm obsessed and check "Beardies Anonymous" daily. Lol :lol:

I'm 46 and I'm the 'grandma' - my son is 11. After having Joga for 11 months she's more mine than his, but he can tell everyone she belongs to him...LOL

Roaches creep me out and superworms are creepy, but that's what she likes, so that's what we have for her to eat. I'm so glad we're done with crickets. I agree, I never thought I'd be playing with so many bugs, they are a hobby as well it seems. Now I'm buying dogfood for the roaches and carrots for the superworms - it's like the circle of life in there. I have to admit though, I really like watching her eat the roaches, it's kind of sick how she catches them and chews them up...

Yeah, if someone told me even a year ago, I would be handling roaches, and picking up worms with my bare hands, I would have told them they were nuts. Still can't get myself to pick up the roach with my fingers, but that will come in time. I still can't believe how much these things eat! and now I have tons of baby roaches.!!

I wish I had a tracker for how long I spend reading posts on this forum and other bearded dragon sites. These reptiles are truly addicting.

I'm 30. Went over to the inlaws house to take care of there animals when they went out of town. Was totally drawn to their beardies. Then they bought Tiamat for me. Awesome

i am 26 and will be 27 on november 6 i love cats and had my first encounter with bearded dragons when i come home from alabama and my mom was babysitting my aunt's beardie Buddy ever since then i have wanted one for my own but yet to get one i will soon when i think i am ready right now my life is too screwed up to have the time to take care of it i want to be the best beardie momma i can be so i will wait to my life settles and i have the time

Hi i'm 33, got my first 2 beardies 10 days ago, apparently for my son :wink:

I have 2 Beardies, 22 eggs that have just gone into incubation, 3 sons, 1 dog...oh and a husband too :lol:
