HOW MUCH WATER?

ok, so there has been some debate about how much water beardie's get by giving them a soak in the bath.

If they don't drink in the bath, how much water and how often should i give?

My guys are 18months

I really wanna know an answer to this also My little guy refuses to drink from the bath refuses to eat his vegetables till they're dry just plain out refuses anything with water! I've been giving him those Nature Zone bite things but I'm not to sure if they're actually providing water.

Beardies will get plenty of water if you soak 2-3 times a week. You can also soak their greens. They also get water from their feeders. Just watch their urates. Hope this helps.

They absorb water through their vent when in the bath so they are getting water from it, though probably not as much as drinking would. My baby won't drink from his bath water but will lick water from his nose if I put drops on there. Just dip your finger and dot a drop on their nose. If they're thirsty, they'll lick it and I just keep doing it until he decides drinking time is over. Some people will mist to get the same response but it can scare your dragon and many don't like it.

my male won't eat much veg, hardly any actually so doesn't get sufficient water from them.

He doesn't always drink in the bath regardless of how long he is in there.

His urates are hard so obviously bathing him is not getting enough water into him.

I'm gonna give him, well both of them, water orally but don't know how much to give??

This is just a thought.. and I did this with my Ollie because he had hard urates and wouldn't poop for anywhere from 18 - 21 days.. Now he poops 2x a week, and his urates are fine:

I make a veggie slurry in the blender and feed it to him 2 x a week:

I mix:
Collard Greens
Mustard Greens
some sort of fruit (small piece of apple, OR 4 blueberries..etc.)
1/4 tsp of Herptivite
a dash of acidopholiz
1/4 cup of water

I syringe feed him, until he's done and usually takes 15 mls of this mixture... He loves it. He is well hydrated, I know he is getting his vitamins... I make just enough for the week, takes about 5 mins

I assume you then keep it refridgerated, would i need to warm it up then for him.

Do you think i could put his calcium powder it that too.

15 ml seems a lot :dontknow:

Anyway i'm gonna try it for both of them, i'll let you know how it goes, it could get messy :lol:

Oh, yes, it could (and likely will!) get messy LOL.

I have been doing this with his greens for a bit now and I am careful to keep his little chin wiped off for him...else he decides to SHAKE it off LOL. He used to wipe it on a cloth or something in his viv, but lately he has decided it is more fun to watch the slave clean up the walls and furniture of green glob :whip: So he makes sure to REALLY shake that head! LOLOL

Ollie just LOVES it, that's why he eats 15 mls.. lol... but there are days he might only eat 10.

Is it supposed to be smooth like soup??? I used the blender i bought to make food for my kids when they were babies, and it only seems to get it to a finely chopped consistency :dontknow:
