homemade incubator vs exo terra?

im planning on breeding my beardie in the future. i have done alot of research and one of the things im really interested/ curious about is the incubators. so far from what ive read the exo terra seems pretty good, but does anyone with expirience have any better options. Also i was wondering about a homemade incubator using a fridge? how do you go about doing this, and is it safe and effective? is it costly compared to a regular incubator?

Home-made incubator can work pretty good if you build it right. I did a lot of research before I got my first Incubator; I look on different forums etc...I went to ThinkGeek.com and got the M-148, its a mini fridge that warms and cools. The temp reading is of by 4 or 5%. For ex, I set it at 89% and its really 83-84% inside. BUT FOR $100 LOSS I'LL TAKE THAT. I payed $89.99 and Im 99.9% SURE the Exo-Terro, ReptiPro 5000, Accu-Temp 6000 are all mini fridge thats warns and cools like the M-148. People are paying $100+ for "the band Name" Sorry the Those Company im not trying to dog you guys, Im just trying to save some money. I built my first incubator with a styrofoam cooler and a fish tank heater. Simply keep a couple inches of water in the bottom with the heater set at 86 and put a wire rack in to hold tupperware dishes I put the eggs in. Worked like a charm and cost me less than $20.

the exo terro actually looks exactly like the one in the link you posted, right down to the screen and button placement. only it cost about 6o bucks more.im def down for saving money anyway i can, as long as im getting something i know is safe for my future babies. thanks for the help
