Hissing Cockroaches

Are these the same as Dubia roaches? If not are they a good feeder?....Local store is selling them and they seem relatively easy to keep. Thanks

Hissing roaches are not the same as dubias. I'm not sure if they make good feeders though

Thanks ..just wondering if they make good feeders because they have them readily available at the local pet store ..not a chain. The people who work they say they do but of course they want to sell them.

Yeah.. It's always best to do some research instead of blindly trusting pet store salespeople :/ you can probably find some information on here by using the search bar located on the top, right corner of the page. I'll try and find something for you too =)

Ok so I did a quick search and it looks like some people do feed hissing roaches but they do have a thicker shell. They can also climb better than dubias and take a longer time to grow. They do have a longer lifespan though. I wasn't sure if you were planning on breeding them but they take a little longer to have babies but their litters are larger than dubia. Hope this helps

Thanks for your help...Based on the limited response and the fact that they have a thicker shell probably means they aren't a great feeder. Will stick to the horn, super and silk worms.The hissers would be convenient to get but not worth it if they aren't nutritious. Thanks again.
