HELP! What's wrong with Perseus!?

Thank you daner for your input I really appreciate all the help I've received from this site. I will be taking a stool sample in this morning to the vet

Just an update, his stool sample came back, he has pinworms the vet gave him his first antibiotic today so he has 2 more doses. Does anyone have any recommendations on what and how to clean his cage and furniture to prevent any re-exposure to pinworms?

Take out anything that isn't his basking spot or food dish. Take out any substrate and replace with paper towels. Disinfect everything, and wait until he is done his meds to put it back in. Clean up and sanitize after each poop. Bathe him a lot. Offer him probiotics to make sure he eats. Pinworms aren't too bad to treat, luckily. I treated Max for them and had no issues at all with his energy or appetite.

Thanks for the advice. What's a name of a good probiotic? And do you know where to find it? Also I have been using zoo meds wipe out 1 for cage cleaning, do you know if that is succnificant in cleaning after each poop or should I use bleach? Also he uses a wooden basking log, how should I clean that after his antibiotic treatment or will it have to be thrown away? Thanks in advance for all your help!

For cleaning - you definitely want to sanitize everything with bleach once after the treatment is done. For now, I would take out everything that is normal stuff and bleach it, as I mentioned. You want to use a 3% solution of bleach in water. Then you want to rinse it until the bleach smell is gone. Finally, you want to bake everything in the oven at about 300F for 30-45 minutes. That should kill anything. The wooden log will be fine after that treatment.

As for probiotics, you can use soy yogurt. I have also used AcidophiLiz+, which I ordered from beardeddragon.co. I think it was about $7. Either one should be just fine.

Ill look to see if I can find soy yogurt at the grocery store, if not, I will order the probiotic, also are there any tricks t getting him to take this medicine in the syringe? the Vet gave him his first dose yesterday and today he is not taking it for me

Sometimes beardies will suck in their sides if they're startled or frightened. Kind of their way of looking like a tiny meal for predators. Please-don't-eat-me sort of thing. Mine does it almost every time I take her for a car ride or when she goes outside and all the noises and shadows scare her. Never anywhere else. So your beardie getting thin like that could've possibly just been something that startled it. I don't recall it being a symptom of pinworms. Good luck with that, by the way!

Funny you should say that Damieboo, Perseus sucked in his sides like that again when we got in the car to ride to the vets office. Thank you Daner for the video, I Will try this method. yesterday I ended up putting it on a phonix worm and he ate it that way. Do you know if it will be effective that way?

Lots of human antibiotics should be eaten with food, so I dont think it would cause a problem, unless the info strictly states "take before food" or "take on an empty stomach"....

Thanks. I had to get it in him some way. I didn't want him to miss a dose lol
