Help!! Lighting Doubt!!?

How long exactly does a beardie need his/hers uv lamps on for:?: 24/7:?: Or just all day and then turn the lights off at night :?: :?:

I would very much appreciate any input, please and thank you!!

ur uv light only needs to be on during the day while the basking light is on...i have my lights on a timer..13hrs of light-basking, uv...and 11hrs of sleepy time!- no lights whatsoever....hope that helps u out!!

Thank you, it does!! My only concern is that by turning off Brians basking light that his enclosure gets too cold at night and he not be able to withstand so many hours w/o that precious light

I was scared half to death when i noticed him this morn so still...I picked him up without even getting the slightest of movement - i was panicked until he finally decided to open his eyes in my hand. What a relief.

(Brians enclosure is located in my bedroom, right by my bed) My room happens to be the warmest but for his little body i worry it isnt enough to keep him comfortable without that light.

as long as it doesnt get below 65 degrees at night he should be just fine...if it drops below that, u might want to get a ceramic heat emitter.. they give off heat but no light, which is what u want...if theres any kind of light, it disturbs their sleep and can actually cause them to get sick or get sick easier i think?? dont quote me on that tho...

ya, BD have a pineal eye on top of their head that detects visible and invisible (to the human eye) wavelengths of light... and with a light on while they are sleeping, EVEN what pet stores advertise as invisble to BDs (its a lie), their pineal aka Third eye, will be calculating, measuring, and telling the BD's brain, ahem... " HEY LIGHTS ON! LIGHTS ON!-- OVER THERE IS MORE LIGHT. OVER HERE LESS. LIGHTS ON!' <end scene>

its comparable to a human trying to get a good night, deep sleep while somebody its flashing lights into your close eyelids, or saying your name, etc.
