Pooping AFTER brumation help

Hey guys I posted about a week ago my Amber woke up and was active for 2 consecutive days then slept with the occasional look when I open her enclosure or turn on her lights. She came out today ate greens and crickets (gave her a tubby too) should I be concerned if she isn't pooping?

She did sleep the entire fall/winter (October 2023 till late March 2024) she did that WITHOUT water and food but her appetite is slowly increasing. I'm sorta unsure if I should go full on greens 7 days a week and bugs 2 times a week or if I should wait till she is fully active everyday and be lenient and allow her to eat whatever she wants for now?

She does seem slow in terms of motion activity and coming out later in the day when she does come out (between noon and 4pm) rather than 8am when the lights are turned on.

5 months is a long time for brumation --- and no water - has she drank water since then? Offer her food every day her appetite should come back but its going to be slowly-- I assuming all the surface basking temps and UVB are up to par -- if any of this is off it cause the behavior your getting

How has her weight changed during that time?
And how did you switch your lights when she was in brumation?

I wouldn't worry to much about her not pooping untill she is eating good. Nothing in ='s nothing out 🙂

Give or take 5 months she fattened up well before she went into brumation she did peek out of her hide and was awake and alert while she brumated just didn't leave her hide though.

she woke up today at 9am today (lights went on at 8:45) ate some greens and had about 10-15 crickets I'll be grabbing more in the morning.

She seems like she may have come out for good she is drinking water basking and eating perfectly fine.

She is also extremely alert if you go by the enclosure she will follow your hands so think she is in food mode.

Offer her water too, very important. Whether you drip it on her snout or give her a short warm soak she should drink some .
I did exactly that and she lapped it up I gave her 2 baths in the last 3 days first bath she was thirsty but not hungry and the second bath she wasn't thirsty but hungry.

I plan on giving her another bath if she comes and stays out again tomorrow and feed her again

I had 2 vet visits with her one in December and one in late January the vet said she fattened up fairly well and if she didn't wanna come out then she had the weight to sustain her through out the brumation period.

I also turned the lights on at 8am-8:30am and turned the lights off at 7pm which is what I do in the winter months.

She is chunky (she had almost 120+ eggs so she fattened up before brumating)

Sounds like she's drinking + eating some so that's good, just be patient waiting on that elusive first poo. It may take a weekor 2, even longer.
Do watch her weight, keeping them just a bit on the lean side can be beneficial in the long run.

Definitely! I have a appointment for a routine checkup on Wednesday (weigh in diet activity hydration enclosure temps behavior etc).

I will get a weight on her (Amber) at her appointment though she seems a bit lighter but still got her chubby bits.

Sounds good, I'm sure she'll be fine. My boys didn't poo for about 3 weeks after waking from ther 3-4 month slumber.

I can feel her staring into my soul demanding food
She was having a staring contest with a mealworm. I guess I never taught her to not play with her food, lol.
