so what is the "par" rating?
I use GE halogen 50w par38 floodlight units....
they give an intense hot spot but won't heat a 4x2....not in my house one won't. Cold side is 68 degrees with light on for hours.
With 11" flexwatt under slate set at 85 degrees and I use a external ballast mbv for basking (produces 104 degrees surface temp)
keep in mind only 3/4 of the enclosure has flexwatt so 3 sq feet + of slate is cooler than the rest which stays a constant 82 degrees year round.
cool slate measures 73 degrees to give an idea how much temp can be lost in a sq foot.
ambient ranges from high 90's to 79 degrees 12 hrs daylight and 82 to 74 night.
