Having the "bad day"...

I came home yesterday in one of the worst moods I have been in ...in a long time. Holidays stress, all kinds of stuff at work home, you name it, the world failed in small ways, that were annoying all day, from getting up, to getting home. I even snapped at my housemate when he told me Tiantha was racing around in her cage and he couldn't wiat until I got home to take care of her. (She was just being a beardie mind you.)

So its home finally with baby crickets for the new boy. Training treats for the dog. Some sand for the Viv for Tiantha since she seems to enjoy a good dig. (Sand box idea, I kid you not)

Salad made and everyone gets fed, picked up after and dealt with...mind you all I want is a little time, in silence, to be with myself. Watching me the entire time is Tiantha. One end of cage watching to the other end of the cage, watching every time I go up or come down the stairs. Housemate takes the dog out the cat is munching and I sit in the chair next to Tiantha's cage and she looks at me, greens untouched, crickets dusted and poking around and what is my beardie doing...she is bearding lightly at me.

So of course I go look and she follows me and...lightly beards at me. "I'm in just about the same mood as you appear girlfriend." I say at her and move all the lights. I put my hand in near her and she climbs into my hand.

Beardie on my chest, back to my chair, the lights low, the cat comes and lays at my feet after asking what I have in my hand and being told, 'no up' and somehow the bad mood, bad day melted from us both. She stopped bearding at me from my chest in about 2 minutes after being picked up and fell asleep under my light patting.

I closed my eyes and didn't fall asleep. I wasn't tired but I did find some peace.

There's nothing more relaxing and stress- reducing, than just curling up and cuddling your babies. It's obvious Tiantha is attuned to your moods and knew you needed her. I'm the same. After a really bad night at work, I need to snuggle up on the couch with Izzie tucked into my neck and my cat, Turtle, on the other side. Half an hour and my stress headache is gone. Thank God for our babies!

We had 2 beardies that were 'comforters' Miss O was the first one. Redrock was the second one. Both of them comforted us when we felt sick or had a bad day. We sure do still miss both of them.

Isn't it wonderful how they can do that? I always called Jasper my therapy lizard because when I held him all the bad stuff just went away. Sounds like Tiantha has the same ability. They are so precious to us in so many ways. :love5:

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
