I'm at the vet now. The vet said she's baffled because my setup is perfect and he was fine up until yesterday. They're doing the fecal. I'l update when I know more.

That is amazing that you can update us from the vets office. :shock: Technology amazes me.

Lol. I was on my smart phone.

Ok so we're home from the vet. She said there is nothing wrong with him...other than he's grumpy and tired. His fecal test showed no problems. The vet gave him a shot of vitamins and B12. That has perked him up a little bit. But mostly it seems that he wants to sleep. Brumation? He's way too young right?!

Grumpy and tired? What can affect their energy levels that I am aware of is UVB and proper heat. They will be lethargic if they are too cold, and they will also be lethargic if they don't have the correct UVB OR if they can't get close enough to it to receive the full effect.

Are you certain of your temps and your UVB?

107 on hot side. 85 on cool side. Digital thermometer with a probe. UVB is reptisun 10.0 18" in a 10 gallon tank.

He's been hiding in the shade since this happened. Here he is back home. He went under his hammock right after this pic was taken.

He looks a lot better, keep him hydrated well for the next few days. You might try lowering the temps a bit, he might be one of those dragons who just don't like it that warm. Try for 100-103

I am reaching here, but maybe have you recently changed anything..like a new shampoo? perfume? cleaner? wax? got your rugs shampooed? used a teflon coated pan? gas fire place on? I am wondering if there was an exotic odor or something new that he smelled/tasted and that bothered him?

He may have licked something and it bothered him.

This is what he's doing now. Looks like the B12 wore off already. Back to sleep...

The only thing that has really changed is Sunday I cleaned out his tank then put him in it empty to eat some crickets (I don't usually do that). Monday he shed. Tuesday he looked like death.

HOLY CRAP! I might have just figured it out! I started putting the silicone caulking into the new viv on Monday. I got some on my hands and washed it off in the bathroom sink. Monday is the day that Sammy was shedding and I gave him a bath in that sink! OMG I think I'm killing him!

What did you clean his tank out with? Maybe if there was a cleaning solution used (i used to use 10% bleach)the fumes weren't all gone yet...hmmm was the stuff in his viv also disinfected?

The only reason I am hung up on "smell" is when Digger was 2 we had gotten grapewood (think that's what it was called) from the pet store and I forget what happened but it wasn't disinfected and after about 2-3 days Digger looked horrible, shrunked, stress marks, black beard and we had everything right temp wise, so by process of elimination (I only had 2 things in his tank a log and that wood)I got it down to that grapewood...threw that sucker out and I think it took a week before Digger got back to himself. I made sure his towel substrate was clean too.

I hope he gets better soon!

So you think maybe he had some silicone toxicity reaction? I know they absorb water through their vent when they bathe so that's why we don't use soap & water so maybe that is it. I wonder what your vet will say and what they will recommend? :?:

We must have posted at the same time...ok that might be it....I have to leave to go to my other job, but before I do, is there a plastic tub you can use in the meantime to give him a bath?

As for what else to do I am sure someone will answer, they always do!
