German Giants are shaped differently than normal dragons. My Rubio is 22" long with a tail nip & 800g. But his head is really wide. He's a really long beardie, 10 1/2" from snout to vent. I always thought he had some GG but then talked to a friend who's dragon did have some GG & found out their heads are longer & not as wide; their bodies are very long & no colour, usually brown & gray. So Brandon is right, it's very rare, no matter how big your dragon gets, that it's a real GG. When breeding went more towards colour & different morphs, GG was mostly bred out. It would be nice to see a real GG, I'll have to do some research & post a pic here when I find one.

Interesting. I'll tell you this, Spike is about 840g, his body is long and not overly wide unless he pancakes. And his head is equally as long as it is wide. I just think his spikes and head structure is pretty large really. His coloration is 95% gray/brown color with some orange accent tones to his lips, eyes, and ears.
Here he is next to our 18"L 600g female. She is dwarfed by him.
Sounds like if any dragon would be a GG your male would be one, he's very long & so wouldn't surprise me, especially with his colours. Congrats. Both your dragons looks really healthy & happy!

Thanks, my only problem now is how they will mate. Being he is so much larger than her, I don't know how easy it will be for him to scrunch up that short distance.
Don't worry, if you're going to have them mate, he'll figure it out! You'll have to keep updated when that happens, it'll be fun to see what size the babies are.
I've begun introducing them so we'll see. Its going to be fun to see how a German giant x full citrus mating would be. I have all the stuff setup for when it happens.
Believe it or not, I rescued Spike at Petco. He was surrendered by a local family who was moving and could not take him with them. My wife had a friend working there and when we went in, she was walking around with him on her shoulder and we immediately adopted him. That was almost 3 years ago now.
Hey Tom, I know some males get quite big, but its pretty rare to have anything over 25" from what I hear and have searched on. At first when we adopted him we didn't have a clue that he was abnormally big. I just thought he was big because of a huge diet and "miracle grow" . Tom, post some pics of your big boy so we can see if there are any similarities.
