Hey everyone. I'm getting my second dragon soon. Is it safe to put a female and a female together. Or does it have to be a female and a male

Generally it's safeER to put two females together, but that's not a guarantee that they won't be territorial and start competing for resources or harm eachother. If you can't separate them, it would be best to have a very large enclosure with multiple basking areas, cool spots, and hides so they have enough resources to go around.

You will need to quarantine the new arrival. Some people house females together with caution. I would not house a female and male together unless planning to breed. In any case since you need to quarantine the new arrival you might as well go ahead a buy a complete new set up. Even if you were to successfully house the dragons together, there are no guarantees that they would always get along so you would still need another enclosure. Introducing a second dragon means that your current dragon will have competition for food and prime basking areas and will be stressed.
