Gargoyles?

Anyone have some knowledge on Gargoyles? I have a breeder with in 2 hours of me and I, well my son, has been bugging me for one(actually 2 but...). We have a beardie right now and still learning alot about the care and up keep. But he wants something of his own, I suggested a gecko and of course he goes and picks something I haven't researched. We're getting a 12x12x18 but I don't know if that would be big enough. What kind of substrate we need. I assume feeding is same as other gecko species. Are they handleable?

The most suitable geckos would be the leopard gecko and eyelash aka crested gecko .What about a ball python or corn snake?

As far as other lizards, a blue tongue skink might be suitable although it requires a larger set up.
