Food poisoning

My beardie has food poisoning she pooed twice in 2 days. What should i do. Also The crickets started eating the poo what should i do with them

Ok ..I'm going to go out on a limb here and ask ....HOW do you know your beardie has food poisoning? Pooping twice in a day does NOT prove anything other than it's a good pooper! My guy often poops more than once in a day.

As for the crix eating the poop - COMMON SENSE says to ditch the crickets - you don't want to feed them to your beardie after eating poop!

FIrst of all 2 days ago i gave my beardie carrots i found in the fridge. Later that day my big bro cleaned the fridge and through out the carrots. He said it smelled wierd and tasted wierd. Proof #1 #2 Yesterday my beardie went to sleep at 2 pm. THats no where close when she normally sleeps. #3 She usually goes poo every 1- 1 1/2 weeks never twice in 2 days . Today i woke her up when she tried to sleep at 1 pm. Her eyes were squinting and her color was off. She had black stripes and felt really cold even when she was on the warm side. Temps 90-100 UVB bulb is Power sun 100w Thats why i think she has food poisoning

You could try getting a ReptiSUN 10.0. Those are the best.

Also, how many hours of light do you offer your beardie?

What do you measure the temps with? Stick on thermometers are unreliable.

Yes but in my other posts we`ve decided im unable to use reptisun please no questions asked it just wont fit on my cage and i cant mount it again please no questions asked inless youve followed my other posts. I usually give my beardie from about 8am-10-11pm rest is her sleeping time. Yes im very aware that crickets are bad to keep in the cage thats why i purchased a feeder rock to keep the crickets in. Im unable to get anything then a stick on at the moment

LOOK ...MANY valuable users here have suggested OVER & OVER again about your husbandry and you won't listen. You keep giving reasons as to WHY you can't (don't question it) put in a ReptiSun. So in essence (IMHO) you are doing harm by your beardie by NOT providing a quality life for him.

A feeder rock - can you guarantee they do NOT escape? They are eating his Poo for crying out loud - PITCH the feeder rock and feed them in a seperate bin as many do!

Going to the bathroom twice in a day DOES NOT mean he's got Food Poisoning. Unless you've had that verified by a qualified HERP vet, you are just guessing!

LISTEN to the people that have provided you quality information. I'd imagine after awhile, that no one will be willing to answer any of your questions because you FAIL to listen or come up with excuses!

TY for posting that Kimmie. I have been having much the same thoughts but refrained from posting because sometimes my mouth has a mind of its own. There are so many things wrong with the picture he paints, plus the sense that he refuses to take any advice, that I am beginning to think he's merely trolling. From this thread, he writes:

The fact that his brother thinks the carrots were weird is, at best, circumstantial. It's hardly a proof. The sleeping may well be indicative of a problem, but I doubt it's food poisoning. If the dragon is pooing every week and a half, then I'd say it sounds like the poor thing is being starved to death. Mine poops a minimum of twice a day, and sometimes three. All of the other "symptoms" sound to me like a beardie who isn't processing its food properly, which can easily come down to insufficient UVB exposure due to the poor lighting in use and the otherwise flawed husbandry.

thanks! I just couldn't take it anymore. It really bugs me that so many have spent their time to answer his questions and yet all he does is resist (resisting is futile). I value everything I learn from what those have to offer in regards to advice because let's face it, I am by NO MEANS an expert. But seeing post after post from this guy and so many people pouring their expertise here and him not listening, well short of reaching thru and cyberslapping him, I had to chastise him. Yeah I've been told I'm a B.I.T.C.H. but IMHO I'm being honest. I always felt, DON'T ASK THE QUESTION IF YOU DON'T WANT TO HEAR THE ANSWER is so true!

Joshish - you've had LOTS of valid replies with help, PLEASE listen to what others have said. The way I see it, it's animal abuse/cruelty if you DON'T take care of your critters.

And pooping ever week and a 1/2 is definitely a sign (I think) of something not right. Angus poops 2 x a day easily!

Um... pooping once a week/week-and-a-half is baaaad. Are you starving the poor thing? My beardie poops a huge poop at least once every two days, but mostly every day. There is definitely something wrong there if yours is pooping so rarely. Either starvation, impaction, poor digestion, or parasites.

MY CAGE USED TO BE HOLDING FISH SO ITS MANUFATERED DIFFRENTLY THERES ONLY 2 HOLES TO PUT IN LIGHT BULBS IF I PUT IN REPTISUN I CANT PUT ANY HEAT. YOU WANT MY BEARDIE TO DIE? Im here to question that a naturalist from oakland (california) has her beardie living 11 long years and her pooper pooped every 1week. Im sureley not starving her i give her 60 crickets every about 2-4 days

Joshish, I don't want to take sides here. I had posted in one of your other threads with suggestions for mounting a fluorescent fixture inside your viv, but I still don't have a clear understanding of why that can't work. You keep saying it can't work, and I guess we should take you at your word, but you have never given a clear description of WHY it won't work or posted pictures so we can all understand. I think that may be what is causing Kimmie and others so much frustration. We just don't understand your situation.

Moving on from the UVB issue for now, and getting back to your questions in this thread. If your beardie is experiencing food poisoning, my thinking is that she will likely recover on her own. I would make sure she is getting plenty of hydration. Is she still eating well? Also, as I said in my last post, I think it's a cause for concern that she had been pooping so infrequently before this. You didn't answer my questions about how often you'd been feeding her and how much she had been eating prior to the whole spoiled carrots incident. Also, what have you been feeding her besides crickets and carrots, which you'd already mentioned.
