falkor's story

so, i thought i'd go ahead and start up an ongoing thread for falkor. if you're interested in reading about his beginnings and the mini adventure i've gone through trying to right the wrongs of the pet store, check out my introduction thread here - viewtopic.php?f=44&t=131036&start=0. either way, i'm going to go ahead and repost the pictures from that thread and continue to add to them


the day i brought him home along with his original setup:

his current setup (the middle is a little dirty from calcium dust - time to clean the carpet)

almost looks like it could have been take outside - well, except for that black cord ;-)

here's a funny shot i took the other night of him sleeping. he normally sleeps up on his branch, but on this particular night, he didn't quite make it before falling asleep :-D

i just bought some slate tile tonight and i have it all ready to go in. that'll happen as soon as i get out of work tomorrow. count on some more pictures then. i'm so excited - i think it'll look really cool :-D

well, it looks like i missed last week's update, so i'll do a two-in-one this week. not a whole lot to update anyway. she's still lazy but growing - at least in the weight department. as of 12-19-10, she was up to 376 grams for a 9 gram gain since the previous week. then, on 12-26-10, she weighed in at 379 grams for another 3 gram gain.

and here's the highlight of this update. a friend of mine made some wings for falkor as a christmas present. here she is wearing them. i had to keep her from jumping off the couch. she seemed to think they might actually work ;-)

Also, in one of the wing pics it looks like Falkor is missing two toes on her front foot. While toe nips are not a good thing ever, Clovis has them in that exact place, and I thought for sec, "OMG they are SOULMATES!" But in the pic of her being weighed you can see that she has every bit of her dainty toes.

yeah, i noticed that too when i first saw the picture. i got worried and immediately went and looked at her toes and they were just fine. it must have been some sort of trick with the light or maybe they were curled under or something.

Those are some gorgeous wings. She sure is a pretty girl! I didn't even notice the 'toe nip' appearance until it was mentioned.

well, not a whole lot to update this week. falkor is still keeping her slow pace. she gained another 4 grams and is at 383 grams now. also, i was happy to see that she grew about .25 inches and is now at 18.25 inches long


only a few pictures this week - all of the are of her being weighed.
