He’s doing pretty well today! Just about to give him his meds and food but he’s looking way livelier today which is great!!Hello,
So sorry you are having trouble with his eyes still. The raw manuka honey would be fine, but
be sure you get it thinned out so it is pretty watered down.
The critical care twice daily would be good. Since he is so small, the .5ml each time is a good
place to start. I hope you are able to get enough into him.
Let us know how he is doing!

He’s doing alright! Just chilling and basking today, he’s also been getting better at taking meds/food often. And don’t worry, his tank pretty much never goes below 80 because my room is a sauna, so keeping him warmer is no problemHello,
He is super cute, how is he doing today?
I hope he is able to recover fully for you, so keep trying with him.
Be sure to keep him a little warmer overnight, to help out his immune system.

Yeah, he’s still a bit thin (you can really see it when his legs/arms are stretched out more) but overall he’s looking a million times better than when I first got him. His eye has also stopped bleeding anytime I give him eye drops and overall appears to be looking cleaner. Still not opening them yet but there’s progress.Body wise he looks pretty good, hopefully you can get his eye issue reined in.
As summer is coming please keep an eye on those temps in the tank --- you dont want them too hot! Is the eye doing any better? He’s doing alright! I’ll do my best to watch the temps as much as possible. I constantly have 3 fans going on in my room to keep it more manageable, but I have been checking his temps regularly. At the hottest point in his tank which is his higher basking spot it’s about 108 at most. Which should be fine right? I remember that baby beardies typically prefer a slightly hotter basking spot right? He also has a water dish in his tank that I regularly fill with lukewarm/cold water in case he were to get too hot, he could use that to cool down. I haven’t witnessed him use it yet but I’ll still have it as an option ^^As summer is coming please keep an eye on those temps in the tank --- you dont want them too hot! Is the eye doing any better?
108 is good --- just going forward around 5-6 months those temps will change to 95-100 for a surface basking temp--I’ll do my best to watch the temps as much as possible. Sounds good! Also GUYSSSS great news, he just started opening one of his eyes multiple times and looking around! I picked him up to check on him as well as start giving him his meds and he opened his left eye and glared at me, and has started doing that multiple times now in the last few minutes! He’ll open them for a few seconds, glare at me, then close them again. But it’s progress! His left eye which the vet said was actually the worse one doesn’t look to bad actually! I think the blood clot may have cleared up! Unfortunately his left eye is still crusty and sunken in and doesn’t look too good, so I’ll be keeping a close eye on that.108 is good --- just going forward around 5-6 months those temps will change to 95-100 for a surface basking temp--
He’s not trans as far as I can tell, thankfully. the photos just have bad lighting, but he does have regular colored eyes. I already have one rescue trans beardie who is a bit of a mess of neurological issues due to his fancy poorly bred genes, so I’m thankful this guy doesn’t have the translucent gene as far as I can tell.Is he trans as well as hypo? In the pics he looks like he has solid black eyes.
My first beardie snagged her claw in one of her eyes, i found her with a huge mass of blood clotted in it( it happened during the night) we and the vet was sure she was blind. They wrote her off, but we wouldn't, we kept cleaning it and keeping it moist. After a month or so i was cleaning it and the blood clot kinda peeled back, and there was eas a beautiful golden eye staring back at me. It took a couple more days but she healed fine. Turned out she pierced her eye lid and missed the eye ball.
Hang in there and keep helping your little guy, and we will keep sending good vibes his way.
We ordered some XS dubia that should arrive any day now, I’m excited to see if He will eat them on his own! And yes, I do have some spare CHEs that I guess I could turn on at night? But the CHEs will still get the temps up to like 90 or so. What temperature would you recommend I use for him at night?Hello,
Wow, that is great news she is opening one of her eyes now, that is excellent! Now, she can see
her new owner! I hope she continues to get better & I'm sure her appetite will improve alo.
Are you keeping her a little warmer over night right now too?
Keep us posted on her progress!
