Before I started snappin pics, she was resting her head on the end of it, like, "Whoa, did you get the license plate of the truck that just hit me, man?!" Looked like she wasn't feelin' that great. :( Beard is a little dark at the bottom, it's not normally like that. That scab/lesion on the right side of her face is GONE now...all the way over to her ear membrane. Came off during tonight's scuffle. More globbing of SSD after. She didn't eat tonight either. 2 more days, 2 more days.

Lol those pics are priceless, if looks could kill haha! Poor little Dino you can tell she's not feeling her best. I think spitfyre is right she does look a little woozy. I'm glad you got the meds worked out. Hum so what to do about her face...have you tried a credit card in the very front of her mouth to pry it open a bit? I have to do that with Xerxes, I open it just a crack so he can taste his meds and then he will take it from there. She hates her meds but it might help you getting them in her mouth without disturbing her skin to much. So shes blackbearding and not eating now? These poor little guys, It's so heartbreaking! I really hope that both our little ones feel better soon!

Ask your vet how much harm it would do to let the wounds dry out for a day or two without the silver cream. It seems like they need a dry out time. If they were hard and dry do you think the meds would go on her face easier and allow you to touch them a bit more without peeling off?

Hi Julie,
I actually use one of those little rubber spatula thingies, a frosting spreader thingie,to get her mouth open. She's got it clamped shut so that's problem #1. THEN, when I get her mouth to start to open, she starts wriggling all over, moving her head from side to side, that's when the scabs start coming off, cuz I'm holding her head and face in those areas. *sigh* She DOES NOT like this med. It's oil based. She just let it sit in her mouth and went completely LIMP the first couple doses! She HATES it! She's not blackbearding completely, more like gray/brown. She didn't eat her supper last night. :( I think I'm gonna have my son feed her a couple hours before I get home, then I'll give her the meds. At least then, she will have eaten her supper. She was STAHHVIN (<---like a Bostonian!) this morning, gobbled up her breakfast. It must give her a tummy ache or make her feel icky. Poor lil' poopie. :( The right side, the scab was hard already. It still just sloughed off when she turned her head and my thumb was near it, hit it and off it came. We saw that and were like  O.M.G.DINO! Just sucks all around. We're gonna get through it though... Healing hugs for your lil guys too Jewls! Thanks! <3

Hello Sue,

Sorry I hadn't checked in on your thread!
How is Dino doing today? You are doing a great job for her & I know it has to be so frustrating!
Keep up the super work.
Bless her, she is being so tolerant, that is for sure.
The spatula is a good idea, it works pretty well. :D

That's okay Tracie, I know Dino's not the only beardie on "your list"! No worries!
She got shot and her last dose of oral meds tonight. :blob5: Thank God THAT'S over with! I gave her a nice soak afterward. She took a nice drink & pooped! :silent: Instead of SSD, tonight I used drippy q-tip with diluted betadine on all her lesions. She tolerated it pretty well. No batting at my hand or the q-tip like she does when I'm globbing SSD on her face. I let her settle down for about an hour then I fed her some supers. She ate 5. So, I think tonight was a good night! I'm enjoying my BOTTLE (not glass) of wine...yeah it's a good night!

Hello Sue, :D

How is Dino doing today?
Did she enjoy her bath, too? At least she is good about drinking then, to keep hydrated with all of these meds.
She is extremely tolerant, that is for sure. What a good girl she is!
At least she is still eating, which is a great sign. Keep up the great work!
I hope you enjoyed your glass of wine, too.

Hi Tracie,
She seems to be doing fine. She had some stress marks when I got home yesterday, she must still be feelin' a little yucky. :( She ate some crickets. Stopped at 4 or 5 so I gave her some big mealworms. She at 5 of those. No meds last night! :blob5: Now we just have to finish the cycle of injections. By the time we finish those, it will be a week off of everything then back on the IC again for a week. I just hope her face dries up/heals a bit more before the battles begin again. I gave her the night off last night. Didn't bother her face at all. We just hung out on the couch together for a while. I just want her to know that everytime I take her out, it isn't to torture her! She watched Women's Gymnastics with me for a while.

Hi
If you dont mind me asking you nebulised Amikacin when your beardie had pneumonia what was the dose/mix and how often did you do this? Oh and how long in nebuliser?

Sorry for all the questions lol!

Im asking as i think i might suggest to my vet as i noticed my beardies whole body raising when he was trying to sleep so the breathing problems are still there :(

Hope your doing better

Hi Tracie!
She was hiding under her basking platform, looking a little sad when I got home. It was kind of late-8:30ish. Maybe she was just sleepy. :sleepy2: I gave her a quick bath and cleaned all her lesions/sores with diluted betadine then she happily gobbled up some supers. Left her lights on a little later to get her all dry and let her digest before lights out. I weighed her last night too. She's down about 20 grams to 333. Considering how things went last time she was on meds, I don't think that's too bad! She was up to 354 when she got weighed at her last vet visit. Considering she was only about 180 in January, I think she's doing GREAT!! :D She's got 3 more injections left. Then we're off all meds for about a week, then back on IC again for 7 days. No antibiotic with the next cycle. The vets office called me yesterday to let me know that the bacteria we are treating tested positive for sensitivity to the ceftz, so that's also good news. At least we know we don't have to give her more antibiotics, these shots should take care of it! So happy to have found a good reptile Doc! :love5: Thanks for checkin' in on us!

Hi Fellow...sorry you're beardie is still having breathing trouble! :( I would have to go pull my papers out at home to check the amakacin dose. I'm not exactly sure that's what kicked it. I think it was the intaconozole that did it actually, now that we know for sure that she's got Yellow Fungus. IC is an antifungal and amakacin is an antibiotic. I can't remember how long I nebbed her with it either. Might've been a week. The combination of both of those meds damn near killed her soooo I stopped everything at that point. I will go look after work and let you know though. Also, keep in mind, that the vet I was seeing then was NOT an experienced reptile vet. Not sure if it's a good idea to try anything we did with her. :|

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
