I haven't heard yet & right now I am on a conference call in work, sigh. He pooped once in his cat carrier sometimes last night, hubby told me it was small, brown & white. He is still white with a very dark beard. He is on the back of the couch laying down, he doesn't want to go in his viv, sigh.

Thanks for asking!

Vet just called.................BLOOD WORK IS NORMAL! When I get to my other job I can give them the fax # for the blood results, too many faxes here to pick a machine, so that's where we are at.

If he still has diarrhea, then give him the Flagyl .1cc i think it was, the stuff is at home

Hello Mary,

Bloodwork was normal, really? I am anxious to see it when you get a chance to send it to me. Thanks.
How is Digger doing? He doesn't look like he feels well at all. I am so sorry he is not doing well right now.

Keep us posted on him.

That photo made my heart sink.. that's exactly what Curt (my boyfriend's beardie) looked like when I saw him last.. he passed away on Monday night from complications from past sand impactions. It hasn't been an easy week for either of us.

Have you had an X-ray done to see what might be wrong?

No xrays and Digger hasn't been on sand in about 7 years, we think the very first time he got ill was from something in the sand when he was 2 years old, vet recommended a towel and that's what he's been on since.

THere are 2 threads here on him in ER but the search function is not working for me, this is the third time he's done this and this is the longest he is looking like this.

Hello Mary,

Everything looks good, except that the Uric Acid is elevated some. I would try to get extra oral fluids into him, at least 5-10mls of fluid daily right now. He is either dehydrated, or his kidneys are giving him some trouble.
I copied & pasted the results & will look further for anything else that may be out of the normal realm for you.
Other than that, his liver looks like it is functioning find, according to the AST levels.

How is Digger doing this evening, any improvements?
Please keep us posted on him.

Hi Tracie,

Digger just laid around like that all day, the hubby put him in his cat carrier last night and when I got home and this AM when I got up I looked at him and he was sleeping, I didn't put the light on as I didn't want to wake him up, so I will know more later when the hubby looks at him later.

Thank you for the info!

Hello Mary,

You are welcome.
Since he is older, personally, I would focus on his kidneys right now.
To begin helping his kidneys, I would start giving 5-10 mls of oral fluids daily right now. You could look into getting some dark cherry juice/extract to help with uric acid breakdown for him & it can be given daily with no side effects.
Do you use powdered calcium for him & if so, how often do you use it for him?

I hope he is feeling better soon.

Thank you Tracie.! We've always used liquid calcium, he gets 5-10 drops now once every 2-3 weeks, the vet gives us the bottle that he has, I think the last one smelled like banana, he loves it:)

Tomorrow is food shopping day so I will look for dark cherry juice, would that be given diluted or straight?

Hello Mary,

I think that he needs to have calcium 2-3 times per week, properly dosed instead of every 2-3 weeks. That may help his system s stabilize.
If you get black cherry juice yes you can dilute it a little. If you get the juice let me know the strength per ml, & I will help you dose him. If you get the dark cherry extract in powder form, I will help you mix it to a liquid form if you want.

I hope he is feeling better now.

I have been so busy with my jobs I have to depend on hubby for updates, sigh. He emailed me saying that DIgger was basking on the table by the kitchen window and his color is better. He is only pooping once a day now and it is the size of a pea and more solid. I gave him calcium and I also gave him Cherry Juicy Juice (all I could find) on Saturday, I squirted it in his mouth after pulling his lip down on the side and he appeared to swallow it, but he did not attempt to lick. Also gave him a bath and let him soak, he didn;t swim (this was on Sunday)

I got home from work at Midnite last nite and the hubby told me he had DIgger on the window-table as I call it and he heard a noise, he went out to the kitchen and DIgger fell off the table, sigh, he said all DIgger did was just look at him and slid-walked on the wooden floor so he picked him up and put him on the couch and he sat on the couch,...Digger then walked over to him, climbed up on his leg and just looked at him, he wanted to sit on his shoulder so he did for about 2 hours.

Other than that he seems to be getting better, I will really know when I get some time with him this weekend, thanks for asking!

Glad to hear some good news. I hope life calms down a bit (or maybe more than a bit) for you. I know how hard it is to be away from the scalies, especially when they are sick.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
