Dig box substrate?

Hi I want to build a dig box for my beardies new enclosure my question is what is a good substrate to use? I heard alfalfa pellets and flax seed are theses good and safe?

yeah both are good, I use alfalfa pellets, just watch to make sure they aren't pooping in there, or they don't get wet, cause that can cause mold.
