Many grocery stores carry bulk washed greens including dandelions all year round. We'll be coming into spring shortly (well, some of us will) and you should be able to pick fresh (untreated) greens 'till your heart's content. Or, get some seeds and grow 'em in pots, even indoors.

Sure they can. Just beware of picking things willy-nilly and feeding to your beloved pet. Make sure the area has not been treated with any pesticides/herbicides. And even then there's other things to consider-for instance, my neighbors think it's all well and good to let their mongrel dogs do their business all over my yard (not like they don't have ample room in their own yard, mind you). So try to select an out of the way area from which to harvest your salad fixin's. To be on the safe(r) side you can grow your dandelions, cilantro, basil, etc. in containers indoors or out. They won't take up much room. :)

Just thought I'd mention this since a lot of people don't know. The "dandelions" that most people have growing in their yards is not actually dandelion. They're Hawksbeard. I'm not sure if Hawksbeard is ok for beardies. You can buy true dandelion seeds online and grow them yourself if you like. I just buy them at my local grocery store. To see the difference in Dandelion and Hawksbeard, do a youtube search. (I'm sort of a herb nerd lol) :study:

They're from the same family if I'm not mistaken, though I don't know different taste/nutrition content, etc would be. There's definitely ridiculous amounts of dandelions in my yard...I don't fight it anymore.

I was really surprised by the great selection my local "superstore" grocery store has for greens. They have dandelion greens, mustard greens, collard greens, kale, escarole, and more ! And it's only about $1.50 for this whole big bunch of them. I guess I'm not a very healthy human, I never really looked at that section before. :p He eats better than I do.

Yyyyyep. While reading about all the veggies dragons eat I realized, "Hey, I should be eating this, too!" We've resolved to be healthier around here. :study:

I actually looked up Hawksbeard and Dandelion and whats in my yard is Dandelion. Hawksbeard has more of a tall lanky looking stem. It would be pretty hard to mistake them for one another. And plus the Dandelion's bloom is much more thicker and more dense than a Hawksbeard. I know you are just trying to help but they look nothing alike! Dandelion is a Dandelion! Thanks for your info though. As that could just be where I live ya know. Maybe I grow Dandelion and someone else in a different state has Hawksbeard! It just had me worried because I feed my Charlie those and to find out now they may be harmful is a little scary. Thats why people need to kinda pay attention to what they say and research it before they go and say hey this could hurt your beardie although you have already fed it to him his whole life! Ya know? I mean yeah they kinda look a little like one another but not enough to mistake them. Plus Hawksbeard is way taller than the average little Dandelion! Hawksbeard is actually called Crepis. They are usually pink, yellow, and orange. Just a little fun fact for ya. lol Im sorry if I offend anyone or make anyone mad I am just putting this out there that way no one will be worried as to what is a Dandelion and what isnt. If you see a Dandelion in your yard pick it and give it to your beardie. The only time you should be worried is if your grass is over a foot tall and surely it never is but if it is then maybe thats the time to start worrying about Hawksbeard. lol

Yes, I know they look very different. I live in NC and what we have here is Hawksbeard. Even though they look soooo different, people around here refer to them as Dandelion. Wasn't trying to say that you don't have Dandelion. I'm actually studying to be a master herbalist so I do know the difference between the two. No need for you to "school" me on the difference. lol

Edited to add: I'm not sure why you got so offended by my post. You're not even the OP so nothing that I said was referring to you or the Dandelions in YOUR yard.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
