Miso has begun to eat protein by herself!
WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
She will however only eat from this new brown bowl I bought her last week.
I was considering looking to crickets again as feeding pheonix and butterworms as a staple now that she is devowering them is getting pricey quickly.

So far when offering her bugs from this magic bowl she has eaten:
butterworms
pheonix worms
mealworms
roaches

Im absolutely clueless in regards to crickets because Dex and Ruben never ate them (expensive taste).

So what kind of cricket do I want? Black or Brown? Or does it not matter?

Is there a kind that I should be able to offer her in a bowl (steep sides with a rim) or are they too jumpy/climby?

Thanks for you help.

Usually the cricket you get anywhere are the normal brown house crickets. Several places online sell crickets for cheap. LLL reptile is a good one that I use currently. Crickets can climb very well. I have wooden enclosures so to prevent climbing I use a strip of clear box tape about 4 inches from the floor around the walls. They cannot climb really smooth surfaces like that. They can jump really well too so it would be hard to feed them from a dish. You can always feed your beardie in a seperate plastic tub. Crickets won't escape and beardie gets some easy kills.

Hey Holly......it doesn't matter if they are black or brown. It's a little hard to keep crickets in a bowl. You can put them in the refrigerator before feeding them to Miso and that will slow them down. I've also heard of people taking off their back legs so they cannot jump  I don't know about you, but I wouldn't be able to do that!

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
