Hello,
Oh gosh, that is too bad. It was an accident him getting out. He is not the egg that was dropped, is he? I was just wondering.
Well, seeing that all of the rest of the clan is normal, then it doesn't appear to be a birth defect. He could have hurt himself underneath the couch, definitely. He was not curved like that before he escaped, correct?
What I think you need to do now, unfortunately, is to separate him from the rest just so they do not pick on him & he gets enough food, etc. This will allow you to watch him more closely also. Can he hold his head up normally, or is it always off to the side that you can tell right now? Does he appear to be in any pain that you can tell?
The main things that are the most important to consider are whether or not the curvature will affect his ability to eat properly & go to the bathroom, & be fairly mobile. They are extremely hardy & very resilient & can overcome physical challenges amazingly well. So, if he can have a decent quality of life, I would say he would be one for you to hold onto as a special family member.
If it is an injury, then, it is possible that it could straighten up in time but if something is broken, it needs to be attended to.
