Hi everyone! Lulu recently went to her one year old head to toe check, and she is the picture of health..... minus the fact that she’s morbidly obese lol. I had X-rays done to check her bones (concern with muscle loss in her back legs that’s she had since I bought her), a parasite fecal test, etc and she’s all good besides her weight. The vet I took her to is my go to for general checkups, but not genuine problems. I have an emergency herp vet that’s 2 hours away, but she’s crazy expensive so she’s strictly emergencies. This vet knows Lulu is very overweight, but she isn’t 100% how to change her protein to lose weight so I’m coming to you for recommendations! Obviously she will be getting a lot more salad and a lot less protein but I’m not sure HOW much. She normally gets 25 medium/large (little less than an inch) dubias once a day. She always has a salad available to her which she empties at least once. How much should I cut back on her dubias? Also what are some good activities for her to get some exercise? It’s too cold to take her outside now, and when I put her in a mesh outdoor cat tent in my room she just burrows in the comforter I put in the bottom and falls asleep lol. I crochet and I made her a jungle gym thing in her tank since she used to love to climb, but she’s not really going for it. Any suggestions would be great! Thank you
