So about 4 months ago I took Chance to the vet due to the reason she was not eating nor drinking. She is just over a year and a half. She wouldn't eat any greens and only 2 adult dubias a month. She also would not drink any water when she took a bath. We took her to the vet and they couldn't find anything wrong and I didn't have the money at the time to do a full exam. I posted here and most people said just give her tough love bc she should be eating more greens then roach’s. So 4 months went by and she will only drink if I drip water onto her mouth from an eye dropper about 3ml's a day and still won't eat greens. She was also only pooping once a month. Took her to the vet and did a full exam. Blood work (Normal), CAT scan (huge fat pads) blood flow was normal in all areas, still waiting on the CBC results. The bill was $290.00 The dr said he didn't want to rule out a fatty liver (I believe) or an obstruction in her digestive system. So he sent us home with a after surgery food. Banana Apple mix just add water. She gets 10 grams morning and night fed through a syringe. She use to hate it now she just opens wide for the food. Been doing this feeding for one day and I bathed her a day later and she pooped so that’s good. I can only hope we figure out what is wrong. In the 4 months she lost 25 grams in weight. She is currently 485grams.

Hey check out my thread (Not eating after meds...) think I've been living through same experience with mine, although when I took her to the vet after abruptly not eating had to deworm her and kill off some coccidia. But even after that she wouldn't eat anything for days, months it seems. I resorted to babyfood (alternate between green beans and squash) every other day spiked with calcium, and I soak her butt in the tub every other day to keep her hydrated. This all started at 9 mos of age, she's now 1.5 years old.

I keep offering her feeders every other day and over the months she started to eat them here and there. (She would mow down 3-5 supers, 3-4 dubias in one sitting, so it was really concerning when one day she said, NO thank you!) She still won't touch her greens, was eating them before the meds, but with the squash and greenbeans she's getting some vegs. Its a royal pain in the butt, but here's the positive:

Chance doesn't have any parasites.
She may just be 'off her food' (which is completely frustrating cause it means different things to different dragons)

I'd keep her hydrated, keep the husbandry dialed in, and watch her weight. Joga went from 565 in April to 532 grams over the summer and has stayed at that weight since september. She's 17.5".

good luck with Chance!

Hello,

Chance's story sounds similar to our Salsa's. She had a nasty bout of coccidia a year ago, and though we finally knocked off the parasites, after nearly six months of treatment her eating and digestion were never really the same. She is a bit smaller of a lizard--only about 425-430 grams. She eats a lot less now than she used to and only poops once every month to six weeks. We had numerous appointments at the vet and after blood work and fecals, and an ultrasound the vet determined there might be a small obstruction/or the treatment for parasites might have slightly damaged her digestive track. We couldn't know more without more invasive treatment, and since she seemed happy and active (she still is!), we decided to leave her be. She nibbles at greens/worms we provide daily (though she's shy so we rarely see her eat), and even ate 5 crickets the other day, but she basks and bobs and otherwise is healthy, so we just accept that her appetite is smaller and her digestion a bit slower. All that to say, that if Chance seems happy and alert otherwise, s/he might be ok even though her habits have changed.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
