I feed my bearded dragon mealworms but before he can eat them all they turn into beetles. Is it ok for him to eat them?

Don't feed the beetles to your beardie, the outer shell is to hard. But you shouldn't be feeding mealworms either their outer shell is also too hard and can cause impaction (a blockage) in your beardies intestines. Good feeders are; crickets, superworms (if your dragon is 17"), roaches, silkworms, and hornworms. You can also feed butter worms and wax worms as a treat.

When you say they need to be at least 17" to feed them superworms is that from head to tail or just their body?? I'm still learning what everything means..and how to successfully raise a beardie!! Thanks!

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
