I have a Bearded Dragon (Very Cool) but I just discovered the Day Gecko (Amazing Colors). Can I keep the two together? Will they get along?

I don't know care on anything, but beardies. But, aren't geckos tropical and need humidity???? I'm only guessing here, but doesn't sound like a good plan. They shouldn't be housed with other beardies, so why would it work with a different animal?

They both can't survive in the same environment. Beardies need less than 40% humidity and a ReptiSun 10.0 UVB, while you would keep a day gecko at above 70% humidity and a ReptiSun 5.0 UVB. There are other differences, but just the humidity is HUGE. A beardie kept in the day gecko's tank would die of a respiratory infection. The day gecko kept in the beardie's desert environment would dehydrate and dry out within a few days. :(

this is correct - the only thing i would correct is that the gecko would not die in the beardies tank from dehydration, it would die from being eaten by the beardie long before it had a chance to dehydrate lol

I have a golden Malaysian gecko & yes, they need more humidity that dragons, who need little humidity. Rocco, my gecko, is in a mesh tank & has a fig tree in his tank. He also has a little "lake" that I keep filled with water. I spray the fig tree at least 3x per day if not more. The main problem with putting a gecko in with a dragon, besides the humidity difference (which would make a dragon get a repsiratory infection) is that they consider geckos prey, so there would be no good reason to put them together. So I'll agree with everyone else & ask you not to let them be together.

NO!ABSOLUTELY NOT!

Housing a Desert and Tropical lizard in the same enclosure 99.99% of the time leads to negative consequences. If the Bearded Dragon doesn't kill the gecko (and give said gecko a field trip down its gut),the heat and lack of humidity will.Likewise, high humidity is bad for Beardies for the reason ShannyBeard mentioned above.

I'm not saying you shouldn't own a Day Gecko, but if you want one,it WILL need its own enclosure to thrive. No ifs, ands,or buts.

Wish I could catch a few of those day geckos. I've heard they've been caught in my area (Evergreen, AL). I've got sooooo many extra tanks, lights, and stuff that are begging to be used.

What everyone else said... That gecko would be one expensive meal for your beardie.

One of my leopard gecko's tanks is right across from Dud's viv, and if I dare feed the gecko before Dudley, he will black beard and head bob at Stanley until he gets his food too. Beardies are jealous little creatures.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
