can a bed be too comfy

hehe, well i put a soft blanket in my BDs cage and now he doesnt wanna leave it to do anything else! i have to pick him up and put him on his basking spot or hell rather not leave his bed, has anyone else had this happen

hahaha, no we didnt pile wood on him, i guess that would be a good reason why he wouldnt leave bed huh?
no the wood pieces there are screwed into the cage and hanging on the wall its like 5 inches above him , maybe the photo just looks that way

Well I don't know how old your little guy is... but he looks old enough to start brumating. This is the time of year when many beardies(generally over 1 yr old) start to slow down and get ready for winter. It is very similar to hibernation.
They will start to lay around lethargically, sleep more and not bask as much. Their appetite also tends to dwindle as well.

Does he otherwise seem healthy? How are his poo's?
We could also go over your set up(uvb,temps, etc.) if you want... to rule out any problems with husbandry.

thank you very much, hes so cute he has a polka dot belly lol!
we still are having problems with him not wanting to get out of bed, but where just going to see if he will grow out of it i guess

well we think hes about 10 months old, we were sure the exact date but he was a baby when we got him.
yea otherwise he seems ok, he had a poo the other day and it looked fine, lol it was funny he pooed then went and hid under the blanket , it was the first time ive seen him hide, maybe it was a stinky one.
we built the set up from a tutorial on here, i cant find it now something fire cages, his retisun bulb does expire its year use in 3 months, so maybe we will order one soon and replace it and see if that changes his mood too

Even at 10 months old it is not uncommon for them to brumate. I would suggest reading that brumation article just in case this is what it is.

I would like to mention... if you have the ReptiSun 10.0 fluorescent tube uvb... it needs to actually be changed out every 6 months. All of the linear tube uvb's need changing every 6 months. So, yes... getting a new one could also change how he is behaving

yes! thats the one, well i modded one thing too, i put a square of plexi glass on one side of the ends, (the opposite of basking side) so he can see the front entrance and kitchen lol, he makes good use of it , now that his comfy bed is next to the plexi glass hes like why leave? i have perfect view and best seat in the house
