OMG. The mental image of a beardie slap followed by a satisfied nap is just too funny.

That bit of bright white chin in the burrito pic is priceless too. Can't wait to see her in full shedded glory.

Congrats to both you on all the progress!

She's not even trying to shed, which is the frustrating part! She seems quite content to be dirty. However, I see that Ruben is shedding, and since Cam seems to be copying him, I'm hoping she'll start shedding soon too. :D

Today was a big day - her first day of all "real" food and no slurry. She ate three medium sized hornworms - the first she gobbled right up, the second she had to be cajoled into eating, and the third I basically stuffed in her mouth! She still doesn't get that salad = food, but we're working on it. I managed to get my hands on a prickly pear (no small feat here in the frozen north!) and I'm hoping she'll be interested in that. Of course it will be just my luck if she loves it and then I can never find another one!

Real food- how exciting! I would think she would be all over those hornworms, but I guess she still has a lot of adjusting to do. Goodness knows what she was being fed before you came along.
I love her little white beard. :D

No slurry? Wow today is a big day then.
Hopefully she will "get" the whole eating thing soon.

Ruben has started to shed his face!
I will post pictures of him in shed and explain how it is evil of him and is causing me nothing but heartache.
Maybe you just leave the screen open and let Campbell Jane sneak a peak....

Sandi when I got Ms. Piggy she had been on calcium sand for her entire life before living with us.
She was also ridden with parasites. It took quite some time before she shed. I've noticed that both of these things affect their shedding properly. Give Miss Campbell Jane some time she will.....an you will be surprised at how she will look.

I had Ms. Piggy for almost 6 months before I knew she was a yellow and orange beardie. :D
I'm still waiting for Itty Bitty to shed and we got her back in September.
Speaking of shedding Baby Bender looks like Super Bender this morning with his little cape.
I've got to go post a pic somewhere.

:blob8: I'm so happy to hear that she ate some hornedworms.......yewey gooey hornedworms....yummy! :blob8:

Well, apparently Campbell doesn't approve of prickly pear. I popped a couple of pieces in her mouth and she reacted quite badly - shaking her head, trying to spit it out, etc. (And yes, I peeled it and everything!)Then she turned her back on me and walked away so I couldn't give her any more! She did eat a hornworm, but I had to put that in her mouth for her too. On the plus side, she's up to 260g, from her original weight of 238g 2 months ago. I think she's feeling much better, as she's doing all the typical things a beardie does to make her slave crazy! :banghead:

Yes, prickly pear is cactus fruit. And they're not kidding when they call it prickly! I didn't know that I shouldn't touch it with my bare hands, and spent quite a bit of time pulling the pricklies out of my skin.

yay for Campbell Jane doing all the wonderful things that beardies do to drive us crazy , that goes to show how wonderful her mommy has been and well she has turned you into her slave. ouch your poor hands , see Campbell Jane your mommy isn't just a good beardie slave but a wonderful mommy , i know you know that even if she had you try something that you didn't like , now she can save her poor fingers from pricklies .

YAY for Cam for gaining weight.
Waffle wont try prickly pear cactus, but garbage disposal Foster spit it back out when I gave it to him.

Just an FYI......when I go to the local :blob5: store for that I take it home hold it by the end and run a sharp knife over it. It will scrape the surface and get the prickly's off!!!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
