Cactus Pads

Hi all, I know you probly get this alot and I was reading some old posts but I wanted to know, does it matter what kind of cactus it is? I have a neighboor that has a really old big cactus in his yard and I have some little ones in a lot next door I know are pestisied free plus I can proly get some from a produce market down a little ways from me but I was just wondering becasue this would be so much easier for me to get them from my neighboor

Yes, it does matter

I do believe it has to be prickly pear cactus (I'm not 100% sure on this)

Hopefully someone will come along and give you exact info but when I looked into the cactuses I know alot of them are big no no's.

on http://www.beautifuldragons.503xtreme.com/Nutrition.html they say that prickly pear (cactus pear) and cactus pad/leaf (raw) is good for them and is recommended as a stable food and they are high in calcium.
