Cactus is salty?

I'm not sure if that is normal for cactus to taste disgustingly salty but I'm not too sure if I wanna give it to my beardies like that.

Never tried it , only available preserved in bottles and tins here in Australia, I have hear fresh Nopal is nice , and it is rated as very good as staple green for lizards , no so sure about the bottled or tinned version.
