After reading and looking at those shrimp, all I can say is I WANT ONE!!!! or 2, or maybe 3, or.... maybe I can just get 4, and in a little while I'll have even more. Good thing my birthday and Christmas are coming up. Oh my dear family....

Jenn, are you thinking of calcium?

Calcium for ...? The shrimp? Or Smauggie? LOL.
The shrimp, no. Smauggie - I know she's not getting the amount she normally does because she's just not eating enough.

I think Buds starting to brumate. It's first time hes started to slow down and not eat that much (will take a dubia or 2 every day or 2 and ignores salad for the most part) since I've had him (about year and a half ago). Temperatures are the same as they always are and nothing has changed about his setup. It seems weird as I've never dealt with this before. He is sleeping more than he normally does but hes seemingly quite lazy and not interested atm. Is there anything I should be doing differently?, as I am just doing everything as I normally would, offering food and water daily and bathing once a week.

This has just started happening the past week or so. I'm a little worried but I'm probably over thinking the matter. I just want some fellow beardy owners input on the matter.

I had a fecal sample taken to Stuarts vet so if he had a parasite it wouldn't harm him as his metabolism slows. Also I gave him something to snuggle (fuzzy blanket) and a couple dark places in case he wants to sleep. I did lower his temps but continue to offer food/water every few days. He's really not interested in much other than sitting on his log and being left alone.

It can get really boring without your beardie, and sometimes, I wonder if he dreams. And if he does, what does he dream about? I can't wait for Kahli to awaken.

I think Stuart dreams of foraging scraps of cheerio he finds on the floor during run free time. And bugs. And fresh fruit. I miss the look in his eye when he spots green beans from across the room.

My little guy woke up today. Has anyone else had theirs wake up? I'm so glad I get to snuggle with my little snuggle bug. :D

Stuart's been doing the ole one eye peek for the last week or so. He moves to the corner, to his log and back. He still doesn't want held or bothered. :? Soon, soon.

Smauggie went to sleep for about five days; then, I woke her up to bathe her, and she stayed awake for a couple weeks. Not eating much, not moving around her tank much, falling asleep early in the evening.

About a week and a half ago, she pooped (I had been worried because she hadn't gone since before she feel asleep) and, next thing I know, she got into her little bed and hasn't gotten out since. She's not completely asleep - she does a lot of the "ole one-eye peek" - but she doesn't get off her pillow or come out from under the blanket.

Tomorrow, she HAS to get a bath. I'm anxious to see if she wakes up and stays awake again.

I miss my little princess. *sigh*

I'm glad I ran across this. I got two adult female dragons early last November, and this is my first beardie winter. The younger one, Nabooru, went through a period where all she wanted to do was sleep and eat offered dubias. Now she sleeps on and off, but stays mostly half-awake and refuses to eat ANYTHING. Maybe a dubia if I annoy her with it enough.

One of them, Deliora, doesn't seem to care about brumation. She basks daily, eats like a champ and is exploring avidly. Recently she's been enjoying making threat displays toward our new blue tongued skink. I think she thinks he's a snake.

But I'm taking both to the vet on Monday to make sure they're doing okay. I think Deliora's tail is dying... :( Hopefully Nabooru's behavior is normal.

Brumation is weird!

Yes, brumation is weird! Stuart is officially up!!! I've missed him so. He still seems a little groggy but definately awake. How's everybody else fairing?

Kahli has been mostly awake. For a while he was doing a whole "this day I will be awake, and tomorrow, I shall be asleep!" Then he was asleep for a few days. Friday he woke up, and had a fairly normal day. He woke up yet again on Saturday. Today he was watching me while he was trying to sleep. He was giving me the stink eye as if to say, "Can you keep it down a little? In case if you didn't know, I'm trying to sleep here!" I went to church, came back, and he was completely out of it. He is starting to be awake. His brumation is almost over!!! I can't wait for him to awake :blob8:

I (foolishly) expected Smauggie to brumate for a few weeks, or however long, and then - poof!- just wake up and act like normal. Instead, it's been weeks of being awake on this day, then asleep the next, then awake enough to eat a roach or two, then staying in bed, then eating some greens, then back to bed ... Every time I think, "Oh! This is it - she's awake now!", she goes back to sleep, or just stays in her bed, watching the world outside her tank.

I miss my little dragon!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
